Can I do a brow lift after blepharoplasty (not at the same time)?

Question

I want to get rid of my hooded eyes so my doctor said that two of them can be done together. However i don't know if i want a brow lift. Can i get a blepharoplasty first then see if i want a brow lift? The two of them are really expensive together and i'm not sure if i want something as invasive as a brow lift.

Browlift and upper Blepharoplasty together? Absolutely not in my opinion! This is based on more than 5000 Irregular Trichophytic browlifts. A properly done Browlift rarely needs an upper blepharoplasty .

Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this, depending on your exact situation.

For less significant issues, there are nonsurgical treatments: To give the eyebrows a nice lift, we use injectable fillers to improve the eyebrow, upper eye, forehead and temple. A filler is placed on the bone and in the fat pads of these areas to contour and lift without it looking overdone. We use cannulas to limit pain and swelling.

Surgery (browlift and/or upper blepharoplasty) is a great option for more significant improvement- for example if there is more substantial eyebrow drooping. Typically the browlift is done first, as sometimes you might not need the upper blepharoplasty after. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles.

I usually recommend the browlift first then the blepharoplasty. However, many patients have had a previous blepharoplasty and then got the brow lift. Many surgeons reduce the fee for the second procedure if they are done simultaneously so you may want to ask for a second surgery reduction in costs. It is the same setup and anesthesia so the surgeons costs are reduced with two procedures performed together.

You can do a brow lift either before or after an upper blepharoplasty procedure. A full set of facial and forehead photographs are required to make a determination about being a candidate for a brow lift procedure.
