I'm about to get a brow lift, and the doctor is suggesting a corrugator resection because I have very strong corrugator muscles. I'm torn because I had a different surgeon advise against it saying that it will look unnatural even though my corrugator muscles are strong. I'm not sure what to do. The surgeon performing the surgery thinks I will still have some movement after despite the resection, but she'll do whatever I feel most comfortable doing.

Answer: Corrugator resection with a brow lift In our practice, most patients undergoing a forehead lift undergo some degree of corrugator resection percentage to reduce the depressor effect of the muscle itself on the eyebrow position. In addition to your corrugators, it's important to have a conversation about the frontalis muscle, the asymmetry level of your eyebrows, the dermal atrophy present in the photographs and placement of the incision itself, in regards to your high hairline. These are all issues that need to be addressed before you undergo the procedure.
