My eyes have a hooded appearance, which often gives the impression of being aged and fatigued. After consulting with multiple doctors, opinions diverge: some recommend a brow lift, while others advocate for eyelid surgery. Supporters of the brow lift argue that opting for eyelid surgery may cause my brows to droop further. I'm contemplating a temporal lift but remain uncertain about it. I include my photos (about 20 years younger of myself)
Answer: Browlift and blepharoplasty You would benefit from a browlift. This will lower your hairline, decrease the vertical height of the forehead and lift the eyebrow to the level of the orbital rim. A blepharoplasty can be done at the same time or later. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Hooded eyes For significant improvement, hooded eyelids require surgery if there is enough skin. For nonsurgical treatments: Radiofrequency (Thermage or Venus Legacy/Viva), injectable fillers, and a Botox brow lift can help contour the eyebrows and lift the eyelid skin. I typically combine this with Ultherapy and thread lifting to lift the brow; RF and skin tightening laser treatments to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the skin; and laser or superficial RF devices for improvements in texture, color, and any crepey skin around the eyes as needed. In some cases, surgery is the best solution to achieve the desired results. See an expert for a formal consultation. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Hooded eyelids: blepharoplasty or brow lift On average eyelid surgery will lower the brow some. However most of the changes in your eyes over time are due to excess eyelid skin. The best approach is to combine a temporal brow lift which will stabilize or slightly elevate the brow with a blepharoplasty. That will give the most natural result. I rarely perform a temporal browlift by itself because there is almost always some excess of eyelid skin. The combination gives a very natural result with correction of lateral hooding.
