Please advise on large bulge in mons pubis area 18 months post op? (Photo)

Question

I need some guidance as I am feeling so discouraged. I have this bulge right above my pubic area. I have had a CT scan and they said there is no seroma. I had my skin only tummy tuck 18 months ago and it just never really went away. I never had this pre op and I didn’t see it right after surgery, it sort of just appeared about 2-3 months after surgery, when I look down toward my feet all I see is this bulge in that area. It is so disheartening because everything else went so well. Pls help.

It is impossible to tall exactly what is causing this bulge; it can be fat tissue or combination of fat tissue and lordosis (swayback). Liposuction may be an answer. In person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon is recommended. Good luck.

I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice.

An in person examination is needed to determine the nature of the bulge that concerns you.  If it is primarily fat, then the area can be improved with liposuction.  If it is loose skin, further excision will help.  Visit with a board certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation.

From the single picture you’ve posted it looks like your abdominal contour is a direct reflection of your muscle wall.
