Can unnecessary muscle repair cause belly bulge?

Kim71486
I’m 35, 12/21/20 had mini TT with umbilical float, umbilical hernia repair and lower abdominal muscle repair with mesh (I was not aware of the mesh application prior to sx). I did not have much muscle separation prior to surgery and my stomach was flat with just lose skin. Post surgery I now have a hard and tight pot belly that protrudes forward like a platform or shelf. My belly button sits on this and also sticks out. Could the muscle repair with mesh be the culprit and could it be removed?
