Dr Krejci, Diane, Zhuling, Darla, make the process unbelievably smooth and painless. I've had several hair transplant sessions there and it just gets better and better. All professionals at the top of their game.
I have had hair loss since I was 20 for some reason. I never cared to fix it, but noticed the affordability and technology had progressed to a point where I might as well do it. I checked into my options with Dr. Jenn and her staff and a week later- BAM! I was doing it. It was a great experience and even just a week later my hair is looking good and I am almost ready to head back to work. However, it takes 4-6 months to see the full results. But so far it's been great. The after care is unbelievable. They have it all mapped out, checked in by phone the day after, and there were not any unanswered questions. My one negative comment is that they charge a $150 consultation fee which is appropriate but they should really credit that to you if you decide to go through the treatment/surgery.
First procedure in 2011. 2nd on 4-12-17. Dr. Krejci and the team are the best. Excellent at what they do, great atmosphere. They REALLY know what they are doing and are clear and realistic and artistic. You cannot ask for more. My first procedure was many times better than I expected, and this one has already been the same. If a reader is reading this wondering if it really works, let me say emphatically: YES. Amazing thing, and a good doctor, like you find here, and team, are realistic in expectation and very skilled in execution. They will NOT steer you wrongly or "sell" you. Best in class.
I was motivated because my self esteem was down always worried about my bald spot showing. I was wearing a lot of caps and using Toppik hair fibers to camouflage my scalp showing. It has been one year and two weeks since my hair transplant and I'm very happy with the results. I have more hair in the areas I was concerned with and don't have to use the hair fibers nearly as much to cover any scalp showing.
I didn't want to be bald, especially with the pattern in which it was happening. The procedure took 2 full days. Dr. Krejci and all the ladies were wonderful. They were friendly and professional. Although it is too soon to see what my results will be, so far, no regrets and I would highly recommend Dr. Krejci and the staff at Limmer.
I started procedures with Limmer Clinic approximately 4 years ago and have had a total of 3 procedures, the last with Dr. Krejci being the best in terms of the overall process. Being almost entirely bald, my expectation level was commensurate with what I saw in the mirror these past 40 years...not much. To say that I have surprised (indeed, quite shocked) at the results would be a gross understatement. I now have almost a full head of hair, especially when viewed from the front. It is difficult to regrow hair in the crown area. It has been an amazing thing for me...one of the highlights of my life at this stage. It makes me feel younger and better about my overall appearance. I would highly recommend it. I wish I had done this sooner. It truly is a miracle.
I had multiple people that suggested that I look into hair transplant. Each time, the road led to Limmer HTC. I was apprehensive about the procedure, but felt instantly comfortable with Dr. Krejci. They kept me comfortable during the procedure, which took about 8 hours and supported me during the recovery process. I'm very pleased with the results 6 months later.
Dr krejci single handedly was the most disrespectful doctor I have ever encountered with a horribly big ego. I have been balding badly since 15, and at that age she turned me away because I was too young ( she charged for the visit ), just me for me to come back at 21 after a transplant in the past to just get a big I told you so, and she wasn’t going to touch my head. Even pulling up my pictures of me at 15 balding and smiling. I’d look for someone with more professionalism rather someone who clearly needs to stroke their ego any chance they get.
On average, scalp hair grows about 1 cm/month or about 1/3 of an inch. Hair growth is a slow and usually frustrating process that requires a lot of patience and perseverance. Whether you are using minoxidil, PRP, Spironolactone or other treatments, you must simply wait for 3-6 months of growth at a minimum before knowing if it a therapy is helping. For our male patients who are taking finasteride (Propecia) we often don't see the full effect of the medication for up to 2 years after they've starting taking it. We encourage our patients to commit to three PRP treatments and then come in for a follow up visit no sooner than 3 months after the last treatment to determine how well they are responding. We also utilize the Hair Check device to measure smaller increases in growth that can’t be see easily through photos. Be patient and don't give up, this is a lifelong commitment.
Based on the photos provided, you probably have enough donor area to cover a selected areas of your scalp but with realistic expectations. The texture of your hair follicles is also a factor in coverage as well; curly coarse hair covers more than fine straight hair. Realistically, it would be impossible to provide coverage over your entire scalp that would match the density of your hair piece. You may choose to include SMP (Scalp Micropigmentation) with a transplant to provide the best additional camouflage to a hair transplant. If you choose to move forward in researching hair transplant surgery, be sure to meet with an experienced, board certified physician who specialized in hair loss and restoration.
Some temple area recession is normal even at the age of 18. If you have a genetic predisposition for hair loss, minoxidil can be a great starting point. It may be a good idea for you to meet with a doctor to determine the cause of your hair loss, and if it is androgenic alopecia, minoxidil along with or without prescription for finasteride (Propecia) is an excellent, affordable option for treatment of male pattern hair loss.
Humans start with about 100,000 hairs on the scalp head. If you lose half of that, you can never borrow enough to fill it all in. For someone who is destined to be a Norwood pattern 6, it is impossible to cover your entire bald head through transplantation and definitely not with 2,500 grafts. It’s also not a good idea to try to spread the grafts out sparsely to try to cover more area. Hair grafts gives more aesthetic benefit when they are clustered together. People with coarse curly hair will get more coverage for the same number of hairs as someone with fine limp hair simply because each hair takes up more space. I recommend you consult with a qualified and reliable hair restoration surgeon before making any decisions about surgery.
Without knowing important details such your age, hair texture/density, and your family history, it appears that you are headed for a Norwood Pattern 6-7. By definition, this leaves you with limited donor hair. The best donor hair is coarse, curly, dense in someone with a lower Norwood pattern. This doesn’t mean that some type of hair restoration is out of the question for you. However, you should look for an experienced and honest physician to guide you through realistic expectations.
