Why is my left breast smaller than the right? 11 months post-op.

Question

I am 11 months post op from a Breast Augmentation. 3 months in, my left breast has always felt a little out of place and is now much smaller than the right. The left breast also seem to be flat and flimsy. While the right is more perky & full. I've expressed my concerns with my surgeon and she insist that my breast look great. I must admit they look great with a bra on, but bare it's such a huge difference in size to me. Could there be some scar tissue causing the left not to drop? Please help

Thanks so much for reaching out. Presley symmetry after breast augmentation can come from a few different reasons. Perhaps they were asymmetric before your surgeon started. This is the most likely case. Sometimes some plastic surgeons use two different size implants to make up for this. Is that what happened?  As you said sometimes scar tissue or capsular contractor can also be a cause. That is hard to say without an exam.   Seven months after your surgery though I wouldn't expect too much more change. If you are unhappy with the way they look talk your plastic surgeon and see if there any options if you're unhappy with their answer you  may seek a second opinion.  I hope this helps :-)

Thank you for your question and posting your photos. Your breasts look ptotic before the surgery, so the problem persists postoperatively. There was an asymmetry before the surgery also. A breast lift may address these two problems.

All breasts are a bit asymmetric. Yours are too.  If the same implant size was put in, then the one larger one probably had more tissue. Best to review in person in unlikely cases different sizes may also be related to fluid or infection as well. If it is just a volume difference because of gland, implants can be exchanged to better match the volume
