Nipple piercings prior to areola reduction?

It will depend on the extent of the procedure in your individual case.  In some cases the nipple ring needs to be removed and in other cases the nipple ring can be covered during the procedure.

Nipple piercings will need to be removed for areola reduction surgery. You can have the nipples re-pierced once you are healed from surgery. Your surgeon will let you know when it is safe.

You will be asked to remove your piercings at the time of your surgery as they are in the surgical field.   If they are difficult for you to get in an out, you can ask your surgeon to replace them at the end of the surgery.  Sometimes we can have people replace their piercings with plastic ones or just place a barrier over them if they are not near the surgical site, but in your case, it would be best to remove them.
