Im 9 months post op. I had a bump on my bridge removed. I specifically told the surgeon i wanted my front view to stay the same. Well the area where the bump was shaved off is SO thin. I absolutely hate it. He said if he tries to fix it, it might get worse and end up too thick(cartilage graft). Temporary filler is not an option! Has anyone had successs getting this revised ?

Answer: Thin Bridge Hi there! When a hump is removed, depending on the size, an open-roof deformity is created which needs to be closed via osteotomies. When the bones are pushed to the midline too aggressively, it can create a pinched effect. This can be very challenging to correct. Camouflage grafts over the top of the nasal bones are often employed, though the risk of asymmetry can be difficult to avoid. Refracturing the bone and placing spreader grafts can work, but you have to be careful about causing instability of the upper third of the nose. Onlay grafts are another options. Improvements can definitely be made. Hope this helps!

Answer: Too Narrow This is an incredibly challenging problem to fix. The nasal bones have been narrowed too much and/or the bony part of your nose collapsed on itself. I would find a surgeon who specializes in revision rhinoplasty before proceeding with another surgery. I would recommend seeing a board certified or board eligible plastic surgeon with aesthetic surgery training/experience who can perform a full exam and provide safe recommendations.
