5 rhinoplasties & have 1 eye swelling & blocked air passage in 1 nostril - any help? (Photos)

Question

1 nostril is almost blocked for air passage, I only breath from the 2nd one, so if the room is quiet you can hear me breathing. The tip of my nose is big and the dr said it is hard to make it small. I wake up everyday my nose and 1 of my eyes swelling( more than the 2nd), bone under my eye painful at touch. It is my fifth time I do rhinoplasty, 2 in usa.Still don’t have a good result like it is impossible. Any help I appreciate it. Cartilage craft were done at the last 2 surgeries.

Hi there! Trying to balance improvements in breathing with reduction in the size of the nose can be challenging in revision cases - but not impossible. The first step would be to take a good internal examination of the nose to determine if grafts are too big and obstructive or if scar tissue is present. If scar tissue is present, steroids may help to improve the airway. If there appears to be significant blockage, a revision case may be needed to open the airway and change the appearance. Making the nose too small does compromise breathing in some patients, so you have to be careful. The eye discomfort may require an Ophthalmologist for evaluation as trauma may have been incurred from prior nasal surgery. Hope this helps you!
