How soon can I wash my face after receiving the injection

Each injector has their own guidelines regarding restrictions after facial injectables, so it is best to discuss specific questions with your injector. My patients are instructed to wash their face gently no sooner than 3 hours after injections for fillers or neuromodulators like Botox/Dysport/Xeomin. Even at that point, it is recommended that the face is touched very lightly or gently, and not rubbed or massaged vigorously. As always, a board-certified physician injector is recommended.

As long as it is not aggressive massage you can do it gently right away. For any serious scrubbing or massaging it's better to wait 4 hours. Best wishes, Dr. Aldo

Thanks for your question – and these concerns should have been addressed at your consultation and before you left your injector’s office.  We always recommend that you consult with a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for these injections – we are the true experts.  If you had toxin injected, most would recommend that you wait 4-6 hours before washing your face.  For fillers, nothing harsh for that time as well is what we normally recommend. 

Thank you for this question. You can wash your face immediately after receiving your injections. However, no strong pressure is to be made nor intense rubbing. If you received Botox or Dysport, it is advised not to lie down (facials/microdermabrasion/massages) for 4 hours post injections. Thank you for your question. Typically, most patients can gently wash their face within a couple hours. However, I would stay away from scrubbing and massaging the face. As always it is best to seek treatment from a board-certified dermatologist. 

It is safe to gently wash your face immediately after having Restylane injections.  Try to avoid vigorously massaging or pressing on the areas that were treated.

Whether its botox or fillers, washing your face at any time should be no problem.  You shouldn't however do deep massage. The injections are placed deep enough that rubbing on the skin surface will not displace the injected material.  Hope this helps.

I think that you had fillers in your face. If you had botox I would say wait 6-12 hours and do not scrub.  Fillers you could gently wash your face afterwards but I would not scrub hard for about 24 hours.
