I received 325cc Mentor round textured implants about 5 months ago after previous reduction in my teens. Texture was recommended to prevent bottoming out, but I've now noticed on my left breast (the R in pic) that the tissue seems to be starting to hang off the implant. It doesn't have the nice, filled out, round lower pole I'd like. Is this the result of the textured implant not dropping as far as it should have? Is there any way to fix it and would it be worth it?
Answer: Capsulotomy / Asymmetry Good morning! That little flat spot should be easily resolved with a capsulotomy, releasing the capsule and allowing it to "round out" in that area.I have attached a link to my Breast Augmentation Revision photo gallery for your review- hope it helps!

Answer: Too early to tell its final. Hello and thanks for sharing your concerns. I see in your photos the issue you've pointed out. I believe this has to do more with your previous reduction surgery and not so much your textured breast implant. It's too early to say this is final and you should at least 1 year for a final result. Follow closely with your plastic surgeon and see what they recommend when you're out farther from surgery. Carefully consider revision as I agree with the comments from the first two surgeons. Best, Dr. Aldo

Answer: Revisionary breast surgery worth it? Thank you for the question and pictures. Accurate diagnosis of your concerns would require in-person evaluation. Is your area of concern related to a breast implant "settling" problem or is there some breast tissue irregularity after the previous breast reduction procedure? Ultimately, whether or not to undergo additional surgery to improve your breast symmetry will be a personal decision that only you can make after you have considered how much the left lateral breast shape concerns you versus careful consideration of the potential risks/complications possible with any type of breast surgery. For example, if you would consider your level of concern with the left breast shape "minor" in degree, then you will probably be better off avoiding additional surgery. This discussion would involve a detailed communication between you and your carefully selected plastic surgeon. Best wishes.

Answer: To revise a breast or not? IF you re really extremely bothered by the very minor issue I see in the photos, it might be worth trying to revise it, but be aware that there are chances it either won't improve or that new and worse problems may arise. No guarantees in revisions! So, if you are more neutral about this it would be best to leave it alone for another year and see where it goes. It can still evolve.
