Mentor memory gel cohesive I or II?

Question

I have had a consultation and was recommended 350cc Mentor memory gel round high profile implants. I was told that are then 2 options and I could chose to have either cohesive I or cohesive II. He recommended the cohesive II - but they are more expensive. I understand II are firmer than I, is this beneficial? Which feel more realistic? Does one perform better than the other? What are the benefits of II over I? Is worth the extra money? Thanks.

I think you should look for the most value in deciding on which breast implant suits you best and not consider costs until the very end. Co I vs Co Ii? Is there a good reason to want a perkier breast with firmer silicone? Is softer better for my goals because it will be the most natural feel? I think your very close and perhaps you should follow your doctor's recommendation if you already expressed your goals for this breast surgery. Best, Dr. Aldo

Breast implants are available in many shapes, sizes, textures, and styles.  The most common breast implants are round in shape and have varying base widths and projections (moderate profile, mid range, high profile, and ultra high profile.  These Mentor implants are filled with the cohesive gel I.Shaped implants have different shapes meant to mimic native breast shapes.  These are known as form stable, highly cohesive gel implants (gel II), and the thicker gel allows the implants to maintain there manufactured shape.  There is a reason your surgeon may be suggesting the shaped implant, and this should be discussed with your surgeon prior to making a decision on the implant shape and style.Good luck with your planned breast surgery!
