Breast reduction and my breasts are still too big, what can I do?

One week is way to soon to see your final result, you probably still have a lot of swelling. It may take several months before you see the final outcome. Try to be patient, good luck!

Sorry to hear about your disappointment, but the good news is that you are very very early in the healing period.  It will be about 4 months before you can judge your results.  Things will change quite a bit between now and then and you may be quite happy with your size once the swelling has subsided and the breasts have settled.Be patient and continue with your surgeons recommendations.Hope that helps.

Thank you for your question and at one week post op it is still very early in the healing stage you are still very swollen you need to be patient and continue to follow up with your PS to discuss your concerns.Best wishes.

Dear bertness,I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast reduction surgery. However, you are still in the very early stages of the healing process.Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively.At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues are still swollen. It is unusual to feel there is no appreciable difference in size after a breast reduction.  Ask your surgeon how many grams of tissue were removed.  Allow sufficient healing time before judging the final results (4-6 months).   Also see your surgeon to make sure you don't have a hematoma or fluid collection.  Close follow up with your surgeon is important!   If you do need additional surgery, it can be done but usually one would wait about 6 months.  

I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with your results post-op. It is important to remember however that you are only one week post surgery and that your breasts are still healing. The swelling should start to come down at this time, but you may have swelling that lasts several weeks and up to 2 months after surgery. Be patient with the healing process and wait at least a month until most of the swelling has gone down and then reassess. If you are still unhappy I recommend following up with your surgeon to discuss any concerns.
