Minimal feeling in nipple after breast reduction?

I got a breast reduction on June 11 (about 8 weeks ago) and am so happy I did it! However, something that I have noticed is that my right nipple has normal feeling while my left nipple has very minimal feeling. At first, I usually cannot feel anything. Then, after repeated stimulation, sometimes I can feel a slightly dull painful sensation. The areola also appears more puffy than before. I had an anchor reduction and about 250 g removed from both sides if this helps. Thanks!

Loss of nipple sensation is one of the risks of breast reduction surgery, however in your case it is too soon to tell, it can take months even a year or more for all sensation to return. Good luck

It is not uncommon to have lack of sensation in areas of your breasts after surgery! If you are experiencing even minimal sensations you will most likely regain normal sensation over time. However this can take up to a year or more to return.  Some diminished sensation may persist long term. Best of luck!

Decreased nipple sensation is a known possible risk of the procedure. It is possible for this to be asymmetrical in its presentation. Sensation may return or it may stay numb. Only time will tell. Continue to follow up with your surgeon.
