Can dry skin be the cause of skin irritation post breast reduction? (photos)

I had a breast reduction a couple of months ago. I’ve had very dry breast (no itchiness). I’ve experienced skin irritation, tiny bumps or broken skin that starts oozing a brownish clear liquid. I’ve been to the doctor previously and was prescribed pills and an ointment. It went away and it returned twice so far. This is the second time. Attaching photos. I put newgel+ on my incisions and Vaseline on my breast to keep them hydrated but it seems like it’s not enough. What can I do?

Thank you for your question. It is not unusual to experience some dry skin after this type of surgery. I would recommend twice daily moisturisation for 3 months. The brown fluid may be the internal stitches that are dissolving and should stop within a week. If it continues I would suggest an ultrasound of your breasts.

Thank you for your question. It's normal to have somewhat dry skin after a procedure like this - however, the ooze is a bit strange, especially at this point. If you aren't having any pain, then chances it's nothing to be concerned about - but if it continues I would suggest seeing your Plastic Surgeon again. When my patients have very dry skin I like to suggest aquaphor - it seems to hydrate well. I have no doubt that this should resolve, but it may take some time as you heal. Best of luck!
