I had a lift and augmentation surgery 2 years ago. Recently I have had breast pain and an extremely sensitive nipple on my right breast. I never had it before so I went to the doctor, they gave me a mammogram and ultrasound and both came back normal. Could this pain be coming from my implants? I have under the muscle silicone implants. I like to think I have a high pain tolerance, but this hurts! Thanks!
Answer: Breasts You may be developing a capsule. I would suggest going back to your plastic surgeon and being examined.

Answer: Nipple Pain After Breast Augmentation Thank you for your question regarding nipple pain after breast augmentation. The pain is probably caused by scar tissue around the nerve. This can be due to the procedure or could be due to the implant. Since your, MRI and ultrasound were expected, and your implants are underneath the. Muscle, I believe most of your nipple pain is due to scar tissue around the nerve and not necessarily scar tissue around the implant pressing on the nerve. Therefore if the nerve pain is severe, I would suggest local maneuvers like an injection of steroids into the area of pain or perhaps even a nerve block. If these maneuvers do not work, you may consider exploratory breast surgery. Capsulectomy will significantly help because your mammogram and ultrasound are normal. Thank you for your question regarding nipple pain after breast augmentation. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen. Answer: Breast and nipple pain Dear Energetic433181, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Breast and nipple pain 2 years post-op. Could this be coming from my implants? Breast and nipple pain two years post-op could potentially be related to your implants, but it's important to consider other factors as well. Here are a few possibilities to consider:1. Implant-related issues: Pain could be caused by complications such as capsular contracture (hardening of the tissue around the implant), implant rupture, or implant malposition. It's possible for these issues to develop months or even years after surgery.2. Scar tissue: Scar tissue formation around the implants (capsular contracture) can sometimes cause discomfort or pain.3. Infection: In rare cases, an infection around the implant can develop, leading to pain, swelling, and other symptoms.4. Changes in breast tissue: Hormonal changes, weight fluctuations, or other factors can cause changes in breast tissue, which may result in pain or discomfort.5. Musculoskeletal issues: Pain in the breasts or nipples could also be related to musculoskeletal issues, such as muscle strain or costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the breastbone). It's essential to consult with your plastic surgeon to determine the cause of your pain. They can evaluate your symptoms, perform a physical examination, and order any necessary tests (such as imaging studies or blood tests) to identify the underlying cause and recommend appropriate treatment. If the pain is related to your implants, they can discuss potential treatment options, which may include revision surgery or other interventions.

Answer: Breast and pain We need more information. Is the pain everyday or increased around your menses? Is it exaggerated by motion or bras? Is it reproducible by tapping certain areas? The nipple pain may be resolved with a tiny steroid injection under the nipple (unless due to nerve irritation further away).
