Careful measurement of your breasts and chest wall dimensions allows the competent plastic surgeon to select the optimal implant for your particular situation. The discussion should include the size of your future breast and the make of the implants. Silicone, saline and the Ideal implant are your choices today.
Thanks for your question! Without being able to see you in person and take some measurements, it would be a challenge to give you a good recommendation. My guess would be a silicone implant, under the muscle, and the profile would depend on your goals. You should get an in-person consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
You have a differential in breast diameter which requires some modification and detailing of breast size. I would perform breast biometrics and height torso examination to determine the right size; in addition to your opinions of aesthetics.Best,Dr. KaramanoukianRealself100 Surgeon
Your breasts are small but widely separated. I recommend a mini lift. Using a circumareola incision, your breast tissue is reshaped, elevated higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. At the same time, fat transfers or small implants can be placed totally submuscular.Best Wishes,Gary Horndeski, M.D.
The choice of implant is determined by combining your goals for size and appearance of the breasts with a detailed assessment of your height/weight, breast dimensions, and chest width. You should find an experienced plastic surgeon who you can trust and can guide you through the decision-making process. In our practice, we encourage patients to bring photos of the breasts that they like and to spend time putting implants in their bra and deciding on the size and shape during the consultation. That may be something you can discuss with your prospective surgeon after you make sure that he/she is board certified.
I recommend an in person consultation with a plastic surgeon to discuss your goals and be measured. After I measure and discuss goals with my patients, we then look at pictures of women (my patients) with similar measurements with different size and style breast implants, and they choose what looks right for them. They also get to see what they would look like when the breasts have fully dropped and fluffed and in clothes. You get to see actual results and the surgeon's experience and not a virtual idea of what can be achieved. Women tell me that this process is very helpful in determining what size and style breast implant is right for them. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author. Rounded or anatomic implants could be used at the submuscular level to achieve an excellent result. Depending on your medical evaluation and the results you're looking for, we can determine the type of implant to use in your particular case, besides the profiles managed in those implants.
I appreciate your concerns Katie and you are correct to be careful in choosing breast implant size for a natural result because you appear to be petite and have little or no body fat. However, you do have some breast tissue, and your breasts are very small but attractive. You can easily obtain a natural result with round smooth implants in the sub muscular plane. I do think that 225-275 mL moderate plus round smooth silicone implants are a reasonable size for your body type and breast base diameter, but physical examination is always needed. I also like to use the implant in brassiere technique to try different size implants to assist patients in choosing the best size for them. Another nice exercise is finding photographs of breast size that you like, and show them to your plastic surgeon. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
Dear katie.j11,breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small. You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
A full consultation would be necessary. There are many factors including your skin quality, the breast measurements, such as base width, all within the context of your goals (natural upper pole vs more implant showing toward the top), etc. You may opt for a less projected and slightly wider implant if your goals move you toward more cleavage and side breast show, for example. I recommend you work with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
I would recommend starting with subglandular breast augmentation. This would give you a nice shape tear press and fill out the upper pole as well. It may also be that a small breast lift procedure could help however starting with the breast augmentation would provide you with a nice natural...
It is very common for the breasts to be different in size and shape. It is actually abnormal for the breasts to be perfectly symmetrical. If this issue bothers you, however, cosmetic breast surgery can be performed to decrease asymmetry. An implant can be placed in the smaller breast to match...
This expiry date refers to how long the implants are sterile, while they’re still unopened in the package. It’s a “use by” date, much like the date printed on a milk carton or other food product. However, once the implants are removed from the package and placed into the body, they do not hav...
