Being over 200 pounds does not automatically rule out a BBL, but the safer question is your BMI, overall health, body shape, and whether your weight is stable. A person who is 230 pounds and tall with good health may be very different from someone the same weight at a shorter height or with medical risk factors. Many surgeons use BMI limits because higher BMI can increase anesthesia risk, blood clots, wound problems, fluid shifts, and recovery difficulty. It can also make it harder to create a defined waist-to-hip shape. If you are actively losing weight, it is usually better to reach a stable, realistic weight first so the result is more predictable. An in-person exam is needed to judge whether BBL, liposuction alone, or weight loss before surgery is the safest plan.
