There are a number of different things that can be done to change the shape of a nose with rhinoplasty and decreasing a long and narrow nose is a common request. Reducing the bridge, the tip, and a portion of the septum will often have the effects that you are looking for but every patient is different and unique and you will be able to get a lot more information from a live consultation. I usually recommend more than one consultation so that you can be comfortable that the surgeon you select understands your goals and is confident that you can be satisfied with the surgery.
The operation wouldn't be more extensive than an "average" rhinoplasty, although I consider all rhinoplasties fairly "extensive."I think most people, if they had your nose and were of a mind to change it, would consider lowering the bump on the bridge, narrowing the tip a small amount, elevating the tip up a small amount, and deprojecting the tip -- that is, bringing the entire nose back closer to your face.
What you want done is completely up to you. Maybe a Rhinoplasty, Rhinoplasty typically starts at $5,500 depending on the area you live. To make sure you get the best possible result, the surgeon should perform a detailed exam of the nose and provide a realistic goal that you and your surgeon agree upon. Rhinoplasty are permanent, but with age facial features do change. Find a surgeon and go for a consult, I think you would be very happy after the surgery
Rhinoplasty for the correction of the long over projected nose can be done with hump removal. tip refinement , mid nose cartilage grafts from your septum. etc. See a very experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who does natural feminine noses without an overdone look.
Thank you for your pictures. I feel that you can benefit from a rhinoplasty. You have some very nice features to your nose, however the length and wide can be improved. The key is that all elements of the nose must work together and fit your face to give you a well defined and shaped nose. The most important thing is to be evaluated and consult with an expert in rhinoplasy. Discuss your concerns and question with your doctor in person. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Based on the pictures you have submitted, I would say that yes Rhinoplasty can help to narrow and "fix the long" nose. Of course, I would need to see you in person for a full evaluation, but in general, a Rhinoplasty can change the both the upper portion and lower portions of the nose. From the two pictures that you have submitted, I believe you would best benefit from a reduction of your dorsum (the bridge or 'hump' of the nose). Also, the tip will need to be refined, which would help to deproject and rotated the tip.Your next step is to meet with a Board Certified Facial Plastic or General Plastic Surgeon, who specializes in rhinoplasty for a consultation. Be sure to share of your concerns with her/him. I hope that this helps!-David Gilpin
Theareas that concern you can be realistically improved with an artistically performed natural appearing rhinoplasty.Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon onthis or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on twodimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussingthe pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best surgery.Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate forone patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest thatyou find a surgeon certified by the American Board of American Plastic Surgeryand one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic PlasticSurgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discussyour concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACSLa Jolla,California
Thank you for the question and the photos. I suspect most of the shaping that would be needed to help refine your nose size will be related to your septum (the cartilage inside your nose that separates the nostrils). An experienced rhinoplasty surgeon will be able to discuss your goals and options for nose shaping to better suit your facial shape. Start out by seeking board certified plastic surgeons in your community and evaluate how experienced they are with rhinoplasty surgery. Look at plenty of before and after photos as well as their reviews. All the best,Dr. Remus Repta
Yes, closed rhinoplasty approach can address reducing the long and narrow nose. The nose itself can be de-projected by shaving down the dorsal hump, adjusting the tip cartilages as necessary, and shortening the nose. Digital computer imaging would be helpful to understand what can and cannot be accomplished with the procedure. For many before and after rhinoplasty examples, to see the link below
Yes, from the attached photos the nasal bridge is high and the tip is over-projected. Rhinoplasty would be able to reduce the overall size and height of the nose as well as reduce the tip projection. Hope this helps.
There are several ways of addressing the concerns you have with your nose. Refining the roundedness of your tip would likely go a long way in improving the fullness and shapelessness you're noticing. It is also possible to do a nostril reduction to narrow the overall width of the nose as well.You...
I don't appreciate significant asymmetry in your photo, but the photography is limited. Kenalog will not help at this stage. Return to your surgeon, or seek another opinion of a Rhinoplasty Expert. All the Best.
More than likely some asymmetry occurred during the suturing and refining of your nasal tip involving the dome cartialge and lower lateral alar cartilages. This can happen in tip rhinoplasty. It nonetheless can be fixed by opening the tip again and determining the cause of asymmetry...
