Some firmness, swelling is normal after Vaser liposuction. This can take several weeks to months to resolve as everyone heals differently.Continued close follow up with your plastic surgeon is recommended for instructions.

Your symptoms, timing and photo suggest you have a large seroma. If you were my patient I would like to aspirate this, possibly insert a drain and apply firm compression and monitor this.. Untreated seromas can get infected and also affect the aesthetic outcome. I not sure why you have been prescribed diuretics, perhaps book a follow up with your practitioner ASAP for another review.

you likely have seroma/excessive swelling. I suggest you follow proper post care.If you are unhappy with your results please speak to your physician and ensure he was a full body VASER HD liposuction physciain wtih expensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction.  At this point you should be using compression, RF treatments like venus legacy / exilis ultra / inmode forma or contoura and lymphatic massage to get you through healing.   We always add shock wave therapy such as cellutone, z wave, and eclipse evive to help prvent scar tissue formation and ensure an even and smooth result. It will take 6-12 months to see the final outcome.   If you are unhappy you can get a revision procedure by an expert in VASER HD lipo.  Best, Dr. Emer.

It sounds like you are have a seroma that should be drained for relief of discomfort but also to prevent scar tissue formation.Seromas can occur if you do not have a drain place or do not get immediate post op lymphatic massages.  My preference is for patients to get post op lymphatic massages as this will mitigate fluid build up and help decrease swelling and scar tissue formation.You should also be wearing a compression garment 24/7 for the first 4-6 weeks.Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question. The limited view photo is hard to evaluate. In my practice, I use the VASER Hi Def Liposuction technique on almost all my body sculpting patients. Not every surgeon who owns a VASER uses this tool appropriately or to it's fullest capability. I believe that it is extremely important to use drains with this technique otherwise you end up with seromas like you did. I place two drains anteriorly in the groin area and one drain posteriorly at the top of the gluteal cleft. I always do liposuction 360 degrees for best results.You might need a drain placed if possible, but might be too late since you can get loculated fluid pockets as some areas scar down. I do not believe that diuretics help, but you should be in a compression girdle with possible foam compression inside it. You might want to check with your surgeon that you are not developing an infection. The first signs of an infection/cellulitis is increased pain before fever, redness or infected seroma develops. Follow up closely with your surgeon. Good luck with your healing.

there is no substitute for time. Giving her diuretics is not standard of care but done by some providers. Nothing wrong with it but it typically doesn't make too much difference.  The swelling process goes down gradually. Expect to be substantially better by three theee weeks  but six weeks  is more a realistic timeframe to get an idea of what your results will look like. Final results will take 3 to 6 months.  Make sure you're not developing a Seroma or fluid buildup. This will feel like a water bag underneath her skin. It often forms of fluid shift if you press in one area another part of your abdomen will expand.Seromas are unusual after liposuction but can happen.  Continue with your follow-ups with your provider. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.

I'm sorry to hear of your
difficulties following your vaser liposuction. A seroma is a collection of tissue
fluid accumulating at the operative site. It is caused by injury to the soft
tissues. When blood vessels and lymphatics get damaged through the normal course
of the operative procedure, the body mounts an inflammatory response, resulting
in the production of clear or yellow tinged fluid. Normally, the body absorbs this fluid, but,
if excessive, it will accumulate and create a seroma.
Presently, you have undergone drainage of the seroma. If adequate, the pain and swelling should subside. If inadequate, more aggressive treatment is required.
Small seromas will naturally
resorb, but larger seromas require drainage. Serial needle aspirations may be
required. If repeated aspirations fail to control the seroma, a drain is placed
and is usually left in place until the drainage subsides. If the seroma
persists for more than several months, sclerosing solutions (we employ
doxycycline) can be introduced through the drain to create scar which will
retard fluid accumulation. In unusual instances, surgical excision of the
tissue making up the walls of the seroma is required. Closing the resulting
defect with a quilt like technique appears to be of benefit.
