Dear doctors, Is a Vaser liposuction less invasive than a normal lipo? Does it have less risks, and no wounds/cuts? Is it possible to have this done without people close to you noticing? Can I go back to work quickly When only having it done to my lower (and perhaps upper) stomach? Thank you in advance.
Answer: Is Vaser Liposuction less invasive than traditional lipo? Hello moreinfoplease,Vaser liposuction is still surgical liposuction and requires the same amount of healing as traditional lipo. There are advantages to the surgeon and to your end results, but you still need to look at it as surgery, one that you need to heal from. All abdominal lipo requires garments and you'll have drainage for a few days, so it would be very difficult to hide it from loved ones. You may be a candidate for non-surgical fat reduction such as cryolipolysis or CoolScupting. With this no one would know you're undergoing fat reduction.Best of luck,Oscar A. Aguirre, MDUrogynecologist & Cosmetic Surgeon

Answer: Vaser Vaser is used to first pretreat the area that you will be having liposuction on. It helps to emulsify fat and break down fibrous septa to make the removal of fat easier. The main question is if your surgeon uses traditional lipo cannulas or power assisted devices such as microaire, tickle lipo, etc etc. These power assisted devices help to cut down on the amount of liposuction time needed to complete the procedure and I believe less trauma to the body. You will need to stay in a compression garment for 4-6 weeks so that may hinder your ability to not let close ones to you know that you had a procedure. Having said that, patients can be crafty!. Typically patients can return to work within 48 hrs maybe less if you are only having those isolate areas completed. Post op lymphatic massages and skin tightening with RF devices will give the best results.

Answer: Vaser Lipo Vaser is much less invasive and can be done under mild sedation. The tiny wounds are basically punctures and heal well. The fat is suctioned more effectively and can be re transplanted. Contouring is better, but the provider needs to have experience and a learning curve is required. JB

Answer: Vaser liposuction vs traditional liposuction Hello, Thank you for your question. Vaser liposuction is as invasive as traditional liposuction, both require an incision through which the liposuction instrument suctions the fat. Most of my patients return to work after 48 hours of downtime. I’m not sure what you mean by people “close to you.” For patients’ comfort and safety it is important to have a support person to drive them home after the surgery and help monitor them up to 48 hours after the procedure. Today it’s quite common to undergo many forms of plastic surgery and I encourage you to share your goals and experience with your loved ones—for your own benefit and theirs. Best wishes, Dr. Moein

Answer: Is vaser lipo less invasive than traditional liposuction? Hi and welcome to our forum! Augmented liposuction with laser or ultrasound will partially liquify fat, thus making the procedure easier for the surgeon to perform. It also may cause a minor degree of skin tightening. However, the healing time will not be different than with traditional liposuction, 60% of swelling will be gone by the 6th week with complete healing in 6 months or so. The surgeon behind the instrument is more important than the instrument he / she selects! Downtime varies from individual to individual (and depends upon their required activities), but is usually less than 5-7 days. Small incisions (placed in inconspicuous locations) are required, which usually heal extremely well. Less invasive procedures will provide a lesser degree of improvement. Set up a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon. Best wishes...
