My hips look uneven after Vaser Lipo, I am 4 months post-op: is this bad lipo or just swelling? (Photo)

Thank you for your question. I’m sorry you are anything less than thrilled with your results.
While it’s true swelling can take up to 6 months to fully resolve, the unevenness demonstrated in your photo is atypical this far out. Ideally, your surgeon is the best person to give you insight as to the underlying cause and how it may corrected. 
If you are uncomfortable or unsatisfied with the response and plan from your surgeon, video consultation with a hi def liposculpture expert should provide you with a plan to achieve a more even appearance. While it’s reasonable to wait until 6 months to know the final results, in special cases, I have done revision procedures for patients as early as 3 months after their original procedure.

It is hard to assess this photo with your dress on. It seems a little uneven. A simple touch up could and should correct it, that doesn't take much time. See that provider, look at the photos and decide. After 4 months your results should just about be final. Hope this is helpful. JB

It can take up to 6 months for swelling to resolve however, most swelling is resolved at about 4 months.  From your pictures it is hard to appreciate the areas that you are concerned about.  See a body contouring specialist if you are seeking a revision

Hi Frida, it's difficult to determine based on the photo you've posted. It's true that swelling post-lipo can last for 3 to 6 months, so it's important to be on the right after care protocols. For my patients, I always recommend compression to reduce swelling, radiofrequency treatments (like Venus Legacy, Exilis, and Forma), and lymphatic massage to get you through healing.Ultimately, if you're unhappy with your results, I suggest that you speak to your physician and ensure that he/she was a full body VASER Hi-Definition liposuction expert with extensive experience in body shaping and not just traditional fat reduction. Thank you for your question. The photo you posted is not adequate to make a decision on it. 4 months out, you should be close to your final result. If you have asymmetry now, you will always have the asymmetry even if the swelling is gone. The VASER is a tool that a well trained plastic surgeon can use to deliver excellent body sculpting results. That being said, not everyone who owns a VASER knows how to use it appropriately and to it's maximum effect.Discuss your concerns with your surgeon or seek a second opinion. Good luck.

I see the unevenness in your hips, but this may be due to a number of reasons, including persistent swelling, underlying asymmetry in your bony structures, or persistent fat in that area. You're only 4 months out so you are certainly still in the healing phase. Give it 3 more months before deciding on your results at which time a small revision may be necessary.Best of luck,

All body areas are different left to right before and after any surgery. The sides may swell and heal differently. Besides fat differences, bone and muscles can also cause unevenness.Swelling can take longer than 4 months. If your hips are still uneven after enough time, a small revision may be indicated.Close follow up with your plastic surgeon is recommended during this time for instructions.

In general we note that 60-80% of postoperative liposuction swelling will resolve by the 6th week, with the reminder abating slowly over a period of 6-12 months. The amount of asymmetry that you exhibit appears significant although the view is somewhat suboptimal. 
We usually wait 6 months before contemplating revisional surgery to allow for subsidence of post surgical swelling and the hypervascularity of healing. 15% of cosmetic procedures require touch up surgery. You will most likely be a candidate.
Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon.
