I had liposuction this year 02/02/2019 and I am still very sensitive and feel numb in my upper thighs and sides is this normal? 900cc was taken out I was told this is my second Vaser lipo in this area last year I had breast augmentation and lipo at the same time I had my hips and stomach done and he took 500cc and I didn’t see a difference so I asked to have it done again but not on my stomach as my stomach doesn’t look great from the first time.

Hi Lizzie,
yes it is completely normal.  Vary variable between patients.
I find the lower back takes the longest in some patients - sometimes 6 months.
You'll find it returns little by little every week.

To answer your question, numbness can last up to 6-9 months post op so it is very typical at your time point post procedure.  Lymphatic massages can help to alievate areas where hard spots are still present and will help with the overall shape.

Numbness is common after liposuction and generally takes 2 to 3 months to resolve. Pain at five weeks is less common but can occur. This too should improve with time and should be already. Best, Mats Hagstrom M.D.

Hi and welcome to our forum!
Numbness following liposuction is not uncommon. It is caused by a combination of swelling and injury to small cutaneous nerves. It subsides and usually resolves within 3-6 months.
Pain following liposuction usually improves markedly over the first week, then only occurs with motion or application of pressure, then only with stretching / exercise, usually totally abating by 2-3 months. If the pain seems excessive to you, speak with your plastic surgeon.
Continue followup care with your plastic surgeon.
