I'd like to get a facelift, but pain control concerns me. I vomited the 2 narcotics I tried: demerol and percocet. I assume all narcotics are off the table. I can tolerate only a couple of NSAID doses, due to my GERD. Vioxx used to work for me, but it was pulled from the market. Celebrex gave me a rash. Any suggestions; any hope for me? Thank you.

Answer: Facelift Thanks for your question! Fortunately, a facelift doesn't have much pain associated with it. Many patients get by with just Tylenol. Also, we offer Gabapentin which is a non-narcotic that can help. Good luck!

Answer: Treating Facelift Pain Without Narcotics Typically, post operative pain following a facelift is mild. Most of my patients take mainly Tylenol, perhaps with one narcotic the evening just after surgery. Some only take the high doses of Tylenol for a few days. There is pain pill called Nucynta that was specifically designed for patients who tend to experience nausea/vomiting with narcotics, and I have seen good results with it in such patients.
