Am I candidate for a facelift at 35? (photos)

Sometimes sudden weight gain and weight loss can stretch skin of the body including the face. I think you would be an incredibly good candidate to discuss potential facelift/necklift. This would help address the loose skin and the platysmal banding in the neck. I would recommend seeing a board certified or board eligible plastic surgeon with aesthetic surgery training/experience who can perform a full exam and provide safe recommendations.

Hi, although you are at a younger age, you do have some noticeable excess skin on the neck. After trying all lesser invasive measures, then yes a facelift/necklift would treat the excess skin. Deep plane or SMAS.

You are 35 years old and your skin elasticity is likely excellent. Your overall shape and contour of your lower face and neck is good. I believe a mini facelift with some elevation and tightening of the SMAS layer and will take the laxity out of your facial skin, smooth your jawline and help minimize the muscle bands in your neck. It's the rare patient who is ready for a facelift at 35 but you might be the exception. It would certainly be mute worthwhile than the things you have been doing. I wouldn't rush into it though

Thank you for your question. First off, age has little to do with the equation, and I know that can sound strange. After all, facelifts were once considered a surgery traditionally for women in their 50s and up. But all this has changed, and for good reason. It all comes down to what we see. Based on your pictures, it's clear that you're in good shape and, as you said, care for your skin. But as we hit our 30s (again, age is just a correlation, everyone ages differently), we tend to start seeing the volume loss and effects of gravity set in. Personally, I have performed lower facelifts or necklifts on patients in their 30s, and I have colleagues who have done so for patients in their 20s. Much of this is due to genetics and inherent anatomy. Ultimately the answer to your question comes down to whether the potential benefit of surgery outweighs the risk and cost. From your pictures it appears You have some loose skin in your neck and jawline. This is early laxity. The issue is how much does it bother you? If it does, you might consider an extended s lift to address both areas. The timing is really when it bothers you.

It appears that you have increased skin laxity and a mini facelift will address this very well and give beautiful and natural results. This can be done under local anesthesia in the office. Based on your photographs I would recommend you stick with non-surgical procedures for a few more years. Your skin care regiment looks great. There is mild laxity of the lower face and neck but not so much that a facelift is needed at this point. Other options to consider would be radiofrequency with microneedling, Instalift (a minimally invasive suture lift for the cheek and jowls), and sculptra (a collagen stimulating injectable that can restore volume and lift to the face and last longer than fillers). These are all highly effective techniques which are less invasive and less expensive than a facelift and perfect for someone at your age with these early aging changes.
