I can't praise Dr. Lipin enough for the outstanding rhinoplasty & septoplasty experience she provided. From our very first conversation, I had complete confidence that she was the perfect surgeon for me. Dr. Lipin's honesty about the achievable results, her unwavering support through every phase of the process, and her unmatched communication and attention to detail truly set her apart. Dr. Lipin's expertise and dedication to her craft are nothing short of remarkable. She takes pride in her work and emphasizes that in order to achieve the results we are both aiming for, we need to work together and follow all instructions to a T. All medications and instructions for pre and post surgery were laid out beforehand and ready for me.?The incredible job she did has not only transformed my appearance but also how I feel about myself. She has genuinely changed my life for the better.?? We had a few consultations before the procedure, a follow-up shortly after surgery, a follow-up at my 1 week mark where the bandages were taken off, a 1 month appointment, a 6 month appt, and a year follow-up. I had no issues post-surgery with my appearance or breathing. I could not believe after just 1 week post-op, I walked out of her office and could go straight to the mall for lunch! No one could tell I just had my nose done and my bandages taken off — it was incredible, and the results just kept getting better. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Lipin and her approach to anyone considering a rhinoplasty or septoplasty. She is an exceptional surgeon who has not only enhanced my physical features but also my self-esteem. Thank you, Dr. Lipin, for your incredible work and for making this journey so positive and life-changing.
Tl;dr: After much research, the cost to result ratio for non-surgical vs surgical correction led me to choose plastic/aesthetic surgery. More research led me to NSPS. Luck assigned Dr. Lipin to my case and after two consultations with her (and other consultations with other doctors at other practices) I chose her to be my surgeon. NSPS, Dr. Lipin, and all the procedures I opted for are excellent. How I came to choose plastic surgery to correct aesthetically displeasing parts of my appearance: 33 year old female. I wanted to address a very full and loose double chin and neck. No matter my weight or size I always had issues with this area. I have that sort of recessed chin that somewhat goes straight into the neck while simultaneously having loose skin and fat deposits resulting in a bit of a dewlap (think lizard gullet). I did NOT want to spend money on a single thing that did not bring significant improvement. I watched several YouTube videos from countless surgeons as well as patients. Based on the information that I gathered from those videos, reviews on RealSelf, and a few other places I decided that I did not want to try the various non-invasive options (Kybella, CoolSculpting, fillers, etc.) For the problems I wanted corrected, surgery seemed to be the best investment for me. The problem with surgery was…well…I didn’t really have an accurate understanding of plastic surgery. Even saying it plllasssticcc surrgerrrryyy felt riddled with taboo and conjured images of the overly done or poorly done (frankly) plastic looking patients I’d seen in various mediums of media. I thought that rich celebrities were the only ones to get excellent plastic surgery and the rest of us will only get botched, and even then, the celebrities sometimes fell prey to greedy surgeons who looked past their mental illness and facial/body dysmorphia and went way beyond correction and into some un-undoable land of cartoon face that once seen by the eye hits the soul as abominable and un-real. Yeah…sooo…I decided I liked my dewlap and prematurely aging face much better than abominable and un-real. But as these things do, they kept poking at my self-image and self-esteem. I kept seeing these parts of me that I didn’t like. Nutrition, exercise, hydration, and sleep…nailing them for the most part but not helping at all in these areas. I do understand media’s role in men and women (and sadly children) developing dysmorphic disorders, or just generally disliking their appearance even when objectively, their aesthetics are good. I don’t consume a lot of visual media. I don’t have any social media and haven’t for three years. They kept poking. I educated myself on plastic surgery: risk to benefit ratio, cost, potential complications, recovery (actual time needed to look normal enough to go back to work), average results, how well the result would age, etc. I felt comfortable enough to book consultations. Some surgeons use the (true) adage “it’s improvement, not perfection,” they try the most expensive yet least hands on (for them) of whichever option you will agree to and a few to several grand later when you are unhappy or underwhelmed with the results they will remind you of what they made clear to you during the consultation. I did not have the money, time, or naivety to go through that nightmare. I was not impulsive. I had a budget and while refusing to be gouged or upsold I was willing to spend the entire budget on a surgeon and procedure I believed in. If nothing I was willing to undergo would yield the result I was after, I just wouldn’t do any of it. A different neck does not mean a better neck. How I came to choose Northside Plastic Surgery and Dr. Rosa Lipin: My closest metro is Atlanta. I thought to myself this is an entertainment hub. Music, movies, TV, are all here. Those faces must be cared for by someone in this area. Where do the beautiful real faces go? I went to a total of 3 different places and had consultations at each place. A bit pricey as the consultations have a fee (usually a hundred bucks) and if you don’t book with them, you are out that money. (Better than stuck with abominable and un-real). My third and final was Northside Plastic Surgery. Dr. Majmundar and NSPS have been awarded several times and have the highest of accolades in their professional community and a before and after gallery that spoke to the quality of surgery performed there. I called to make my appointment for my consultation. During this time, I was informed I would be receiving consultation and subsequent care from Dr. Rosa Lipin. Dr. Lipin and I had a (free) telephone consultation where she reviewed my pictures and we discussed my concerns, her concerns, and possible solutions. I was immediately impressed with her. She is such a gal pal. Very warm, kind, honest, and sincere. I made an in-person consultation and hurried over to RealSelf and Google. Dr. Lipin has five out of five in both places, but she doesn’t have a ton of reviews in either place. Also, many of her reviews are for her excellence in fillers and non-invasive aesthetics. The trouble about shoulders and up is many people don’t want their image all over the internet, discretion being non-negotiable. While I could write a dissertation on the excellence and wonders of Dr. Lipin, now, then I had no idea what my outcome might be. Upon arriving to Northside for my in-person consultation I was dazzled by a clean and gorgeous building (inside and out.) It’s decorated like a five-million-dollar condo staged to sell for seven and a half. The reception is warm, professional, and friendly. I met with Dr. Lipin in person. She was able to get a better understanding of the texture and elasticity of my skin, and to see me as I move and speak. She informed me of four treatment plans that would work. Two of which would address my concerns but were unnecessarily extensive. We focused on the lighter two. Originally, I thought that chin/neck liposuction would be all that I would require to fix the dewlap. During my in-person consultation she explained to me that the chin/neck lipo would remove the fat but that she was afraid that because of the laxity in my skin that once the volume was removed the skin wouldn’t retract. To trigger production of collagen and elastin to tighten my skin as it re-draped she recommended FaceTite. She also showed me that I would greatly benefit from a chin implant using a software to show what my results would most probably look like (with the plus that some jawline definition would be greater in real life as the software could not simulate it.) Additionally, she discussed buccal fat removal to complete the contouring. I went home to sleep on it. I needed to consider the change in the budget and the change to my appearance. I also wanted to make sure that I was truly comfortable with everything recommended and not just agreeing because I was caught up in the excitement and sparkle. What procedures I underwent: Within the week I booked my surgery date for: Chin/Neck Liposuction Chin Implant FaceTite (skin tightening to lower jaw and neckline) Buccal Fat Removal I went into my surgery without one single doubt in Dr. Lipin’s ability to give me the best result that my skin (and post-op compliance) and her magical talents could yield. My surgery went great! The nurse that took care of me was Mrs. Patricia she was so soothing and attentive. Every step of the way she told me what she was doing and why. My anesthesiologist was great (don’t remember much about him…a little anesthesiology joke…) From show-up to anesthesia was less than an hour. I woke up feeling great. Dr. Lipin explained to me that when she attempted to remove my left buccal fat pad that it did not birth itself as they normally do (see countless videos if you’re curious). She felt the risk was too high to poke around important anatomy like glands and nerves so she didn’t. There wasn’t any fat removed so she didn’t have to worry about opening up the right side for symmetry. I cannot express to you how grateful I am for her making that decision. The buccal fat removal was not imperative for my desired result and she cared more about my safety and well-being than keeping dollar signs as high as possible on an invoice. Dime piece energy. I dressed myself with the help of a wonderful young lady named Ty (I think) and was out of the door. I had no dizziness, light headedness, nausea, or any discomfort. My sense of smell was pretty intense after surgery. Not good or bad, just notable. I was able to drink Pho broth and eat a bit of the noodles and bean sprouts. I took it easy that evening and saw Dr. Lipin the very next day. Excellent plastic surgery felt out of reach and for “those other people” (the extraordinary and rich.) After meeting Dr. Lipin, I felt like Manhattan and Beverly Hills had joined to do a pop-up in Alpharetta, Ga and somehow, I am extraordinary and fortunately didn’t have to be rich (just willing to pay for what I wanted.) Every step of the way she has been there. She gave me her number to call or text with any concerns regarding post operative healing. She has answered every question I’ve had. I send her my progress pictures and she is the hypest of hype women for me! One day I went in for a lymphatic drainage massage with their AMAZING esthetician Caroline; I didn’t have an appointment with Dr. Lipin, but she saw me in the hallway and checked my progress and gave Caroline some direction on what to avoid and what to focus on. Dr. Lipin was nearly in tears because she was so excited at how good I look. Dr. Lipin is truly incredible and is in the plastics sainthood in my book. Rating the results Our Lady of Aesthetics yielded: I am five weeks post op at the time of this review. I have healed incredibly well in my opinion as well as Dr. Lipin’s (I believe). I have had the swollen lymph nodes and swollen everything really but I totally look like myself now. I still have few nerves that aren’t fully awake and it causes my smile to be a little different than before but that is improving (literally every day) and is probably noticeable by me. I could go into great detail about what I’ve experienced during the healing process and probably will in a video but for the purpose of this review the relevance of where I’m at in the healing/final result process is how it relates to how much of everything is back to “normal” and how much of the improvement is visible and likely to be a part of the final result. Neck liposuction- Ten out of ten would recommend. All the fat is gone but I still look youthful. FaceTite- The costliest. I absolutely believe that my skin would not have retracted had I not had this. I see people with full double chins that don’t hang or sag. My skin was already hanging! I was also jowling and you could see my cheeks were even falling. I am fully SNATCHED! I have a little swelling left but SERIOUSLY from every damn angle I am snatched without looking too taut. Chin Implant- yoooomygooddd. I cannot even believe it. I was so hesitant. Like down right scared at first when she said chin implant in my consultation. I was just picturing something masculine or just not my face as I know and like it. She let me see all the different kinds and showed me the one that she selected for me. It was so teenie and feminine and not at all scary or manly. No Leno/Quagmire jaw/chin here! I was totally on board with the implant when I booked the surgery. I just could have NEVER imagined it would be this good. Y’ALLLLL. It’s a game changer. Like my whole face is stacked better. My lips look fuller, my nose looks better (seriously, my nose looks better somehow). My cheeks that were starting to fall they are right where they’re supposed to be now. It’s almost like it’s not improvement, but it is perfection. Twelve out of ten would recommend! Buccal fat removal: Not sad about it at all. Not necessary. I don’t mind my youthful Demi Lovato-esque round cheeks. Honestly with my face being stacked better (just ask to see my pictures, you’ll understand) and my jaw line being contoured, my cheeks are not as big as they used to appear. Not saying it doesn’t give a result. Just didn’t feel let down that we didn’t do it. I can’t wait for y’all to go in there and ask her to see my before and afters. You are just gonna be speechless, in awe, amazed, and you’re gonna book that surgery and have your whole life changed. But your face won’t be. It will be better, perhaps perfect like mine is, but it will be your face. The face you are meant to have. Dr. Lipin is my little Time Fairy my neck and face looks like back when…never…it’s never looked this good! I look like a better version of me ten years ago. She is a patron saint of aesthetics and facial design. Do yourself a favor: stop thinking that this level of quality is in another state or for some other people. It is for you. Book your consultation and blow a thank you kiss to this snatchural goddess face and neck of mine later.
Dr.Rosa Lipin is truly a rare find. Usually people with her extremely high level of mastery are not very personable. She is like the incredible best friend/sister you always wish you had! Treatment with her is always a joyful experience, and her results are phenomenal!
I was a little skeptical and nervous about having this procedure done. Dr Lipin made me feel comfortable and really calmed my nerves. She explained in detail what would be done and what i should expect. Throughout the procedure she walked me through step by step what was being done and then checked on me to ensure i was doing well. This was an amazing experience and i want to thank you for really taking the time to ensure this experience would be a good one. The results exceeded my expectations and i am so glad Dr Lipin was my DR. Thank you again
Dr. Lipin is an exceptional doctor and such a kind person. Brilliant. I have always been nervous at the doctors office— I have white coat syndrome and try to eat right to avoid the doctor. But over the last couple of years I started to not like the way my face looked in pictures and on FaceTime calls with family. People would say to me “did you lose so much weight?” and I felt self conscious especially of my under eye area. A friend recommended Dr. Lipin to me, and finally I decided to go in for a consultation to see if there was anything that could be done so that I looked better rested and refreshed. The office is amazingly beautiful and so clean. No white coat nerves at all. The staff treated me like royalty. Dr. Lipin was so patient and smart and explained everything to me so I could understand what my options were. I did not want to do surgery so I went with filler. I decided to go for it and everything went exactly as she promised. No pain. No bruising. Only mild swelling that has gone away. My eyes look bright— not tired, my cheeks are full and lifted, and I am so happy! A++ experience and results. I am telling all of my friends at the gym and from Houston about Dr. Lipin so we can all look like we are in our 50s together! I look 20 years younger and am so happy. I can’t wait until I can go back because Dr. Lipin makes me feel so positive.
I highly recommend Dr. Lipin! Not only is she a knowledgeable clinician, she is a wonderful human who made me feel super comfy about being new to Botox and fillers. She took time to get to know me and my aesthetic goals and answered all of my questions. I did not feel rushed or pressured to do anything. Could not have asked for a better experience!
Dr. Lipin was so kind, understanding and helpful with my lip injections. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted, but he listened to my concerns carefully, and offered her input when I asked what would look best on my face. My lips turned out so amazing. I will absolutely be going back to see her!
Dr.Lipins is hands down the best I have been to before. I am extremely happy with my results and will me back to get more done by her. She was very attentive to my wants and delivered exactly what I asked for. I have been to several other injectors before but no one paid attention to details as much as she did.
Good question! Insurance plans vary, so I would recommend reaching out to your insurance company to inquire about your deductible and benefits. Often times, surgery that addresses breathing issues, such as a septoplasty or repair of vestibular stenosis, are covered by insurance. Ensuring you understand your benefits and out of pocket costs will help! A rhinoplasty is performed to address the appearance of the nose, and is almost never covered by insurance.
Depending on your age, and how lax your skin is, and what FP skin type you have, I mau recommend different things. I like Morpheus 8 RFMN for the submental region and the neck as it is safe on all skin types, improves texture, tone, and will tighten the skin with time. I would wait until your plastic surgeon clears you, but I would say to wait until at least 3-6m after the chin liposuction. Best,Rosa B Lipin, MD
You are very pretty! If you are interested in decreasing the size of your forehead and lifting your brows, I would recommend a pre-trichial brow lift +/- hairline advancement. If you are not bothered by the size of your forehead (I only mention this as you mentioned it in your question), then and endoscopic brow lift +/- temporal lift can be performed, but depending on the bony and soft tissue structures of the forehead and orbital bones, fat grafting my be necessary as well. Best of luck,Rosa B Lipin, MD
Thank you for your question and photos. An upper lift lip (minimally invasive surgery), removes skin at the base of the nose and decreases the length of the cutaneous lip, and can help make the face look more proportional. It will also help with the horizontal projection of the cupids bow, as this will be moved. There will be a scar at the base if the nose, but with excellent surgical technique, and appropriate management of the skin both before and after the procedure, it is almost indistinguishable. Otherwise, you could consider a chin augmentation, to help balance your profile.
I would massage the area with ointment (aquaphor or vaseline) for at least 5 minutes a day, this should help soften the scar tissue. If there is no improvement with that, then I would consider a steroid shot, but do not rush into it, as there can be adverse effects.
