By viewing your photos, you appear to have a large amount of swelling. It takes a full year to allow all swellling to subside. Be patient and allow it to heal!
It is still very early to evaluate your results. Thirteen days after surgery, you still have significant edema. This edema will slowly improve over the next 6-12 months. Try to give it some more time to heal because the appearance will improve as swelling decreases.
It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. I hope this helps.
You have to give yourself some more healing time. Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results.Sincerely,Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
Thank you for sharing your photos and question. At 13 days post-op, there is a large amount of swelling still present; this can create the appearance of asymmetry and irregularities. In general, 70% of the swelling subsides after 3-4 months, and it may take 18-24 months to see the final results of surgery. Swelling after surgery can be due to the following: Whether the procedure was a revision Whether the procedure was open or closed Whether tip work was performed Thickness of the patients’ skin I would recommend keeping in touch with your surgeon, as he is familiar with the nature of your surgery and can advise you during the healing process. I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck.
You are quite early in your recovery at the 2 week mark. Your nose will change dramatically from here on. Give it a minimum of 6 months (better 12!) before judging the final outcome. The nose now should provide you only with a "preview" like idea of the direction the surgery changed your nose.
Thanks for posting your question. At two weeks, your nose is swollen after rhinoplasty. Some people swell more than others, but universally, everyone has swelling at this point. In your case, the pictures confirm that your nose is swollen. Follow your surgeons directions and be patient. Best of luck with your healing!
Hi 13 days is very early to begin expecting final results. Your nose does look quite swollen but there is no doubt that 6 months from now it will be markedly smaller and closer to the finished product. Have patienceDr C
The nasal bonees heal by forming a callous. This will often give the patient a slight fullness to the bridge of the nose. Generally this will resolve on its own, but may benefit from a steroid injection if it persists. Be patient, noses will change alot over the first year as the healing process...
Yes it should be safe. I would advise following the instructions for the nasal spray and I wouldn't recommend using it continuously for more than a week.
Patients experience tremendous changes to the skin while on Accutane. I advise my patients not to do any facial surgery until they have been off Accutane for at lease 6 months. I have found rhinoplasty results improve after accutane because of the improvement in skin quality.Dr. Michael Sul...
