At my one week post off I got my cast off, when I got home I noticed the slightest reminant of the bump that used to be on my nose. It is very minor but I wanted the bump to be completely gone. Since it is so soon in the recovery I want to believe it is just swelling and the small bump will go away on it’s own.... what do you think?
Answer: Early Bump after Rhinoplasty The nasal bonees heal by forming a callous. This will often give the patient a slight fullness to the bridge of the nose. Generally this will resolve on its own, but may benefit from a steroid injection if it persists. Be patient, noses will change alot over the first year as the healing process proceedes.

Answer: Bump coming back? Rhinoplasty Results It's still too soon to tell what your final results will be. You need to have patience with your body as it begins to heal. The skin, bone and cartilage are all traumatized during surgery. Inflammation (swelling) is the normal response and will help your nose to heal and look beautiful in the end. If, one year from now, you are unhappy with your nose, then that is the time to think about a revision procedure. Right now, concentrate on other things you like to do and let your nose and under eyes take the time to heal. I hope this helps.

Answer: Swelling after Rhinoplasty & Results You have to give yourself some more healing time. Your nose and surrounding areas are going to be swollen for a while and you should be consulting the surgeon that performed the procedure but give yourself some time before going back in so some of it can subside. It can take up to a year for final results. Sincerely, Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Residual hump after rhinoplasty It is way too early to judge the result. The area of hump reduction typically has more swelling that adjacent areas due to manipulation of that area during hump reduction. A residual small fullness or hump at that site in the early and intermediate postoperative area is not unusual. Make sure you adhere to your surgeon's recommendations and if you have concern, follow-up with him or her. Sometimes taping is performed at night, sometimes compression exercise or gentle massaging can be done. But don't do anything without YOUR surgeon's permission. Best wishes!

Answer: Early Postop Rhinoplasty Bump Thank you for your question. Yes, it is very early and the small bump should go away. Sometime gently massaging the area can help facilitate lessening of the "bump." Please check with your surgeon before starting any massaging of the area. Ultimately, it is your surgeon's decision as to your postop care. Good luck.
