Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. In my practice for the cases that i recommend the strap i suggest it to be used for a month.Best regards,Dr. Emmanuel Mallol Cotes.-
Thank you for your questions. With questions specific to your post-op protocol, it is best to seek the advice of your operating surgeon. Although some of the steps are similar across the board, such as avoiding scars directly to sunlight, others are tailored to the patient at the surgeon's discretion. All the best,Dr. ResultsMiami, FL
Thank you for your question. The duration of the breast band depends on a lot of factors. Often it is not needed at all. If it is needed, usually a textured implant will require it for a longer time and an implant under the muscle will require it for a longer time. Usually it is left in place until the implants are close to their intended position. The best approach is to ask your plastic surgeon; he or she will know exactly how the surgery was performed and weigh all of these factors to give you the best advice. Best wishes.
Thank you for your question. Every plastic surgeon is different in their approach for post-operative care after a breast augmentation. In my practice, each patient receives a customized post-operative plan because not everyone heals the same way. I suggest you speak with your PS or contact their office to find out what their recommendation is for you. For many patients in my practice, wearing a regular (non push-up) bra or swimsuit 4 weeks after surgery is a possibility- however, I cannot stress enough the importance of having this conversation with your PS first. I hope this helps.
Hello dear, thanks for your question. I recommend that after surgery my patients uses the strap for almost two months.
I presume the strap you are referring to is a narrow stretchable band with a Velcro connection placed at the top of your breasts. If this is the case it has likely been placed to help hold the implants down to fill the lower part of your breasts. When a subpectoral implant is placed the muscle can push the implants upwards and result in a higher than ideal position when healing is completed. The Velcro strap helps prevent this. Very likely your surgeon will discontinue this treatment when he or she is satisfied that your implants are in a good position. Very often this takes 2-4 weeks. I tell my patients that they can wear a sports bra immediately after surgery and refrain from wearing an underwire bra for 6 weeks. Good luck
Some surgeons recommend patients wear a strap on top of their chests after breast augmentation. I do not routinely use them. Best to ask you surgeon. AS for a bra or sunbathing, I allow patients to go into a regular bra usually within about 6 weeks. Sunbathing, I would want them to cover the incision with a block or tape.
There are various types of breast augmentation protocols including using a strap to help push the implants down and bra use. Your plastic surgeon will have his/her own protocol so you will have to touch base with your plastic surgeon to determine this. All the best,Dr Remus Repta
Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has their own protocol and not everybody heals same. So please follow your PS instructions. Good luck
Always go first and foremost with your surgeons recommendation.Faceless online doctors have none of the details of your case and recommendations vary widely
The idea of using an implant only on one side (obviously, the smaller side) SEEMS attractive, especially because of cost, but no matter how good we plastic surgeons are at breast augmentation, a breast with no implant and a breast with an implant (even if size and shape end up "perfect") will...
Everyone in recovers differently and at a different rate. In my opinion your friend's recovery is not typical. If you are healthy and did not have any difficulty ambulating walking up and down the stairs after your operation should not be a problem. It will be very important however to make...
The most important factor to direct you should be surgeon experience and results. Breast augmentation is a relatively low-risk operation and does not require a long stay wherever you decide to travel. We get many Canadian patients who fly to Las Vegas for breast augmentation, as well as many o...
