Some bad decisions have bad consequences - I decided to go overseas to have some surgery not because I was saving money but I trusted the surgeon, but as you can see was done terrible - and with a bad outside scar, this has been the worse time of my life, since I had to spend the holidays looking like a monster, well enough said almost three months ago, can I have a second surgery to fix shape and remove scars and how long do I need to wait for this ? will the scars be removed ?
Answer: Restoring the nose I'm really sorry that you had to endure this. I recommend you give it some time to heal first - what you see is not necessarily what you'll end up with. But from the pictures, you will likely require significant nasal reconstruction In a staged fashion. This means be prepared for more than one procedure and time in between to heal from this. Most importantly, find a board-certified surgeon who performs advanced nasal reconstructive surgery. This is not a typical case.Good Luck to you,Dr. E

Answer: Scars after Rhinoplasty - This is NOT Revision Rhinoplasty For such scars in the tip region of the nose, you have basically 3 options. First, one can try to improve the appearance of the scars using local measures such as lasers and subcision. This should be started as soon as possible. Second, scar revision could be performed. Third, reconstructive nasal surgery may be necessary. All the scarred skin is excised and replaced using skin flaps from other parts of the face. As already noted, this is not a procedure commonly referred to as revision rhinoplasty.

Answer: Nasal Reconstructive Surgery I would enlist the skills of a plastic surgeon who specializes in nasal reconstruction. You will likely need a local or region flap for reconstruction and physicians who specialize in nasal reconstruction after Mohs surgery for skin cancer or facial trauma can utilize appropriate techniques to move healthy tissue into the affected area and restore a normal appearance for you. Your chosen surgeon can best recommend the timing or staging of your nasal reconstruction. There are noted experts in your geographic area who can help or you can travel for opinions elsewhere, such as Dr. Fred Menick in Tucson, Dr. Gary Burgett in Chicago or Dr. Shan Baker in Michigan. I am glad you are reaching out to this forum for information. Research your options and plan for correction when it is best.

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello Lilyboston! Thank you for providing pictures along with your concerns. I'm sorry this has happened to you and you are left so unhappy with the results. The good news is that with dermabrasion or other skin rejuvenation treatments, the scars present on the outside of your nose could be improved drastically. However, if you are unhappy with the overall shape of your nose, you will need a revision rhinoplasty to fix this. I recommend visiting a board certified facial plastic surgeon in the US and discussing these options with them. Good luck!
