It is very common to have blood tinged mucous or light nosebleeds following rhinoplasty.  This usually stops in 48 hours.  If it persists, or becomes heavy at times, contact your surgeon.

Following rhinoplasty you may experience drainage from the nose for 2-3 days. It should not be excessive, but will contain some blood and mucous.  If you are concerned that there is excessive bleeding you should inform your surgeon. Best regards.

Hi Brittany: The nose typically drains pink fluid for 2-7 days after rhinoplasty.  It shouldn't look like bright red, thick, sticky blood like when you have a bloody nose. It should be thinner, more watery, like red koolaid almost and gradually lighten day by day.  If you are having bloody nose type bleeding you should contact your surgeon.  Best of luck

If you are having bleeding, contact your surgeon as soon as possible.  It is normal to have some drainage for a couple of days.
