I've decided to get both a breast augmentation and stomach liposuction done (flanks, lower possibly upper abdomen as well). When will I be able to start dancing again? My dancing is more physically taxing (i.e. Booty popping, twerking, pole work etc). How long is my downtime for each procedure? Also keep in mind I can wear an outfit covering the compression garment. I can do the surgeries separate if I am going to have an extended amount of down time if I do both together. Thoughts? Thanks!

Answer: Breast augmentation and liposuction Hello and thank you for your question. The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. For patients with an office job, I recommend 3-4 days off from work. For patients with strenuous physical activity such as yourself, I would recommend 4 weeks. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Dancing after surgery Thank you for your question. You should discuss your return to physical activity with your plastic surgeon and follow their guidelines. Your breast augmentation will require more downtime and recovery than your lipo. I recommend 6-8 of recovery before returning to strenuous activity after a breast augmentation. If you were having lipo on its own, I would say you can return to any activity as you feel comfortable, as long as you wear your compression garment during those activities for 4 weeks after surgery. Combining procedures into one surgery is a great choice for many patients, as it allows for only one recovery period. Having the two surgeries separately would not save you any recovery time. Best wishes.

Answer: Fast recovery Thanks for the question, its for people like you I put the implants above the muscle and use minimally invasive lipo techniques. I would try to get you back at full capacity in 2 weeks with these strategies
