After I have lipo, when can I dance again?

Your breast augmentation will determine when you can go back to dancing and not the liposuction. For very active dancing like this - 6 to 8 minimum off.Best of luck, Dr. ALDO

In our patients, we let them dance right out of the operating room!  Kidding aside, we don't restrict our patients after liposuction any more than their own discomfort limits them, so for most patients they are back to full activities around 5 to 10 days when they are comfortable.  Be sure to discuss your goals and concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon and consider the pros and the cons. Be certain your surgeon is properly certified.  I've attached a link where you can start your search. 

Cassandra.   Just liposuction will keep you off the dance floor for just a couple of days, depending on number of areas treated.  I do not recommend heavy lifting or vigorous exercise for at least 4 weeks after BA for possibility of bleeding. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  For patients with an office job, I recommend 3-4 days off from work.  For patients with strenuous physical activity such as yourself, I would recommend 4 weeks.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

Thank you for your question. You should discuss your return to physical activity with your plastic surgeon and follow their guidelines. Your breast augmentation will require more downtime and recovery than your lipo. I recommend 6-8 of recovery before returning to strenuous activity after a breast augmentation. If you were having lipo on its own, I would say you can return to any activity as you feel comfortable, as long as you wear your compression garment during those activities for 4 weeks after surgery. Combining procedures into one surgery is a great choice for many patients, as it allows for only one  recovery period.  Having the two surgeries separately would not save you any recovery time. Thanks for the question, its for people like you I put the implants above the muscle and use minimally invasive lipo techniques. I would try to get you back at full capacity in 2 weeks with these strategies

Always ask your plastic surgeon about specific activities and when they can be resumed after surgery. 
After six weeks of uncomplicated healing, you should be able to resume your physically taxing exercise program.  I would take it easy initially to not overdo the very intense bouts of exercise.  Find an expert in both breast augmentation and liposuction and have both surgeries performed at the same time.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

 If you were only doing lipo, I would say that most of my patients can go back to full activity within 7-10 days. The breast augmentation is different. I tell patients to avid light aerobics for 3-4 weeks and heavy physical activity for about 6 weeks.

Every plastic surgery office has their own set of pre and post operative instructions that they recommend their patients follow. I encourage you to refer to these instructions or ask your surgeon at your consultation. Please seek out a board certified plastic surgeon for consultation. 

Every surgeon has his or her own unique post op protocol so it is best to consult with yours. However, you will probably need to wait at least 6 weeks before returning to dance. If you do the surgeries together, you will only have one recovery which make be the smart choice. Best of luck.
