Hi baybb2018, I understand your concern. It is not uncommon to feel that your breasts are warm to touch after breast augmentation surgery. This is part of the normal healing process following the surgery. However, if you notice other symptoms that can indicate a complication, visit your plastic surgeon for an in-person examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question and congratulations on your surgery. Some warmth of your breasts on the day after surgery does not sound overly concerning. If you have questions or concerns, reach out to your surgeon and they'll be happy to get them answered for you.
baybb2018. I appreciate your concern but it does not sound like you did anything unusual to cause a problem. Sometimes the breast can feel warm to the touch after surgery, and as long as you do not have a fever, 10 1°F or higher, you should be OK. However, I recommend that you see your plastic surgeon as soon as possible just to be certain that all is OK. Good luck.
Thank you for your question. Right after surgery, your body has suffered and injury and is in the process of inflammation preparing to heal the injury. This usually results in some additional warmth to the area which can be completely normal. Make sure you keep an eye on things to watch for other signs and be sure to follow up with your board certified plastic surgeon.Best of luck!
It is normal for the breasts to be a bit warm after surgery from inflammation. If they are the same temperature then there is probably nothing to worry about. If one is much hotter than the other or you have a fever then there may be an issue. If you are really worried then I’d suggest booking an appointment with your surgeon to be examined. Best of luck!
Hello,Warm to the touch is one of the signs of infection. The other signs of infection include redness and pain. However, one day after surgery is usually too soon for an infection to set in. I recommend you contacting your plastic surgeon to be evaluated and make sure everything is ok. Good luck with your recovery. Dr. Lee
This seems to be early in the healing process and it is common to feel warmth as the tissues are healing. You should keep your surgeon informed so he could examine you to provide further instructions for optimal care.
Thanks for your question. In the days and weeks following your breast augmentation, your body is in an active state of recovery. As long as you don't have a fever, warm breasts are not a cause for concern - just a sign of increased inflammation in your system. If this persists or if you develop a fever, call your plastic surgeon. Otherwise, focus on getting lots of rest and you should be fine!
As long as both breasts have the same feeling, I would not be too concerned. The increased blood flow in response to placement of an implant can be perceived as a warm feeling. However, if one is red, hot, and swollen, then you would need to get in touch with your operating plastic surgeon immediately. Congratulations on your surgery.
It is not normal for your breast to feel warm to the touch. Do you have redness or swelling? Many other factors can come into play if you have an infection. Contact your surgeon as soon as possible for an evaluation.
Spending that much time walking around the day after surgery was likely too much. Generally I advise my patients they can return to work and nonstrenuous activities 10-14 days after surgery. I encourage you to rest and closely follow your surgeon's post operative instructions for optimal results.
Thank you for your inquiry and I understand your concern. Not all surgeons require patients to stop taking birth control pills before a breast augmentation. If that is a protocol your surgeon follows, it is definitely worth asking whether the NUVARING would be a problem during your procedure....
