Since resuming exercise after BA, my right breast has been sore. It feels like a muscle soreness but I'm worried about CC. What does CC feel like? My bf says the right one feels firmer, like the muscle is tight but I think both breasts feel about the same. PS said to keep an eye on it but I'm not sure what is normal and what isn't. Any words of reassurance would be great as I am the type to fixate on these things. Thanks.
Answer: Looks fine Dear yepyep12345: You are only 8 weeks postop. Discomfort this soon after surgery is very common, particularly after you begin working out again. From your photos, it appears as though your implants are beneath the muscle. It also appears as though everything is fine and you are healing as you should. I would follow your surgeon's advise and be calm. I don't see anything alarming it what you have posted.Best of luck to you!G. Robert Meger MD

Answer: Breast Augmentation Hello! Based on your photos you appear to be healing normally. It is common to experience discomfort at this stage in the healing process, especially if you have resumed exercise. Allow at least six months before you start seeing final results. Good luck!

Answer: Post Op Capsular Contracture Hi yepyep12345, Capsular contracture is a breast augmentation complication that develops when internal scar tissue forms a tight or constricting capsule around a breast implant, contracting it until it becomes misshapen and hard. Also, you are still in the early stages of the healing process at 19 days post op. It is not uncommon to experience soreness and tightness at this stage of the healing process. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. But if you are still concerned, It would be best to visit a board certified plastic surgeon for proper assessment. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Breasts need time to drop and fluff All you describe could be normal. Your surgeon would be the best person to reassure you. In general 8 weeks is a bit early for capsular contracture. At 8 weeks post surgery, you are about 50 percent, healed, settled, shaped, softened, dropped and fluffed. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled and softened at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. Dr. Ted Eisenberg, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author
