I have been born without complete antihelixes. The half inch I have feels as though its scraping through my skin.Any suggestion?

Thank you for you question.  The failure of the antihelices to form is one of the more common reasons for patients to develop prominent ears.  Usually complete by birth, if found early enough in babies, the ear cartilage can be molded, but by 17 years of age, correction can only be performed through surgery.  There are many ways to address, and reconstruct, the anti helix and you should seek out a board certified plastic surgeon who can answer your questions and walk you through the steps needed to give you the best possible outcome.

The formation of the antihelix should be pretty much complete by birth.  So, if you don't have one at the age 17 it is not going to happen now.  There isn't any cause or anything that you can do about it other than surgical correction.The main problem with a poorly developed antihelix is that you are likely to have prominent ears as well.  So, improving the shape and definition of your antihelical fold is likely to improve the cosmetic appearance of your ears.
