I've had gynocomastia surgery 3 years back and since then my skin had retained the shape which it had before the surgery. The left one is worse and I thought that working out would help but bigger chest made it worse. I totally can't wear t-shirts and have lost all my confidence. Is there any solution to this problem? Please help
Answer: Loose Skin After Gynecomastia Surgery It is hard to give a recommendation without an exam or pictures. It is not unusual to have loose skin after gynecomastia surgery if the skin has lost a lot of its elasticity. In most cases this can be corrected by surgically removing excess skin. It is important that you find an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in gynecomastia. Good luck!

Answer: Male breast reduction gynecomastia male breast liposuction male breast reduction revision skin around areola Hi Nanda012, Thank you for your question regarding loose skin after your gynecomastia surgery. First of all, since your breasts bother so much, I would strongly suggest you seek gynecomastia revision. I am certain there is a solution. Since this is a re-do, I would suggest you seek a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in male breast reduction surgery or gynecomastia. To answer your question, a thorough physical examination would be in order. However, even without a physical examination or pictures, I will try to answer your questions. Since your skin has returned to its pre-operative shape, I believe you have excess chest skin. Excess male chest skin is best removed with by an excision. Sometimes excess male breast skin can be removed with an incision around the areola. Sometimes excess male breast skin is removed with an incision from the armpit down the side of the chest. Sometimes excess male breast skin is removed by creating an incision under the breast, where the breast meets the chest wall. You may require the first or second type of incision I mentioned above; I doubt that you would need the third option. I hope this answers your question regarding male reduction surgery for gynecomastia, and in your case, a re-do of a prior male reduction surgery. If you have any other questions regarding gynecomastia surgery, please contact my office. Good luck. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Revision surgery Without examining you in person, I can only hazard a guess but if you have loose skin, it will need to be surgically excised. Schedule a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in gynecomastia revision surgery to be examined in person and discuss options. Best of luck.

Answer: Lose skin after gynecomastia surgery Lose skin is common issue in severe cases of gynecomastia, and if your skin is not elastic then you may require skin excision (removal of extra skin though periareolar incision) for a proper shape, or may be a revision gynecomastia correction surgery. It is difficult to exactly tell you what should be done with an examination or pictures. I suggest that you schedule a online or in-person consultation with a qualified plastic surgeon who specializes in gynecomastia correction surgery. All the best.
