im 1 year post op and there is a lump behind the incision areas which pain upon pressing. this lump also makes the nipple look pointy. would massage help?

Bruising and swelling are completely normal following gynecomastia surgery. While the majority of the swelling should be gone by 6 weeks post op, every patient is different. For now, be patient. If things don't improve then see your surgeon to be examined in person.
Without pictures, it is hard to indentify the best course of action. Take note that there are myriad techniques to improve the appearance of scars, with the right one depending on the type of scar one has--e.g., keloids, hypertrophic scars, dark marks, etc.

I know that things look really bad, but you are still early in your recovery. For now, as hard as it is, I would simply wait and see. At the 6 month post op mark, if the look of your nipple still hasn't improved then schedule an appointment to see your surgeon to discuss options. There are a few...
