Restylane Lyft vs. Juvederm Voluma

This is a great question and one we hear often.  Both products are very similar and provide excellent, safe, and reproducible results.  The choice often comes down to which brand a physician carries in the office or price point.  The hyaluronic acid fillers are fantastic and provide long-lasting improvement in the mid-face.  Many practices, like ours, carry both products since patients may have a preference or are already established in the rewards program for either manufacturer - Brilliant Distinctions for Voluma and Aspire for Lyft.  Make sure you choose a competent and qualified provider for your injection since it is the skill and experience of the injector that can make all the difference.  Avoid bargain offers and go to a injector and facility that maintain on-site hyaluronidase in case there is a complication that requires immediate treatment.

There are certain situations where I will use Restylane Lyft for cheek enhancement, and others where I will use Juvederm Voluma. Each case is different and both fillers can work well for this area. More important is the skill and experience of your injector. I would recommend an in-person consultation and evaluation to determine which filler would be most appropriate for you. Best wishes.

Careful with the Fake News out there.  Compared to Lyft, Voluma has a much lower G prime and higher tan delta.  These two parameters determine what happens to the product after it is placed.  The higher G prime fillers are much more able to resist deformation once they are placed.  The parameter tan delta determines the propensity of the filler to dissipate once placed.  The higher this number, the more runny the product.  Compared with Lyft, Voluma is more runny and less able to resist tissue deformation.  Translation, the filling effect from Lyft will last longer than Voluma.  Mind you both do persist a similar amount of time but as the Voluma diffuses you will feel that it is no longer doing the job that it once did.  You should know that Restylane has G prime that are less than Lyft but  more than Voluma.  Regarding tan delta, Restylane has a tan delta that is higher that Lyft but less than Voluma.  In many cases, Restylane can be a better choice that Lyft for a filler because it is easier to sculpt once placed in the face.  Get the filler that is right for you and watch out misinformation about these fillers.

Restylane Lyft and Voluma are both dermal fillers with HA that great are for contouring and lifting the cheeks. They last roughly 12-24 months. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with specialist.

Either one is good. There is not much difference... they are both hyaluronic acids with a different cross linking. They may lasts about the same. Although Voluma as per manufacturer information should last longer. 

Hello alohamighty, thanks for your inquiry i am sure you will get a lot of good answers here, some may confuse while other may shed more light on your question. I wish you had posted some pictures of your face, as plastic surgeons we like visual imagery and challenges because they allow us to use our experience with different products and approaches in a tailored fashion to better suit you. It is important to establish that Voluma is  FDA approved filler for the mid face. It is more stable and has a longer molecule size so this gives a lovely lift that you can see immediately. It is also better in my experience when compared to thin fillers like Restylane–L or Juvederm Ultra - not that you cannot use these other products they just need more amounts or more frequent injections.  
Now, the facts about longevity, I will tell you this, it is said that Voluma lasts longest, in some studies by up to 6 months over other products. But no two patients are alike in their responses so trying to tell you choose this over that product based on these statements is difficult.

I find that VOLUMA consistently lasts longer and has more lift than Restylane Lyft. However, I will use Restylane Lyft for a softer look or I may combine the two fillers and layer them depending on the patient's goals and their own skin thickness and anatomy. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD

I love both products and use them interchangeably.  There are times when I need a higher G-prime filler and choose Restylane Lyft but it depends on the area that I am treating.  Please consult an experienced cosmetic injector for the best results. Best, Dr. Green
