Kybella is contraindicated after surgery of the neck. The indications will expand after further study and use of the injections
If you still have some fat that wasn't removed during your liposuction, it may respond to either Kybella or CoolMini, which is the small applicator that's used with CoolSculpting. Both of these fat-elimination techniques need at least two or three sessions to completely remove a double chin. It takes 2 months before your results will be apparent. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will let you know if you are a candidate for follow-up fat removal.
Yes, Kybella can be used with submental lipo, and in fact is a good adjunct. It can even out the lipo treatment, and increase efficacy of the overall treatment. Best, Dr. Giordano
The answer to that question is yes. Kybella can be used to remove areas of submental fat that remain after a liposuction procedure. However, if the problem is excess skin, then a skin tightening procedure may be necessary or even a neck lift if the amount of skin is excessive. I have had many patients that arrive for a consultation for Kybella but the problem is excess skin and this cannot be improved without a procedure to address the skin. Also, there is a layer of fat below the muscle that requires surgery to obtain a cosmetic improvement to the neck and this layer of fat is not treated with Kybella or liposuction.Good luck.
The key is to understand what is going on with your neck. Some folks have unusual neck configurations that look full due to underlying glands. Those do not respond to Kybella or neck liposuction for that matter. However, if the residual fullness is just from fat, it is possible to Kybella to improve this without further surgery.
Yes, we often do kybella and ultherapy after chin liposuction to get more of an outcome. We start treatments 4-6 weeks after liposuction, so you are fine to have it now. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Yes, Kybella and Botox can be used in conjunction. Kybella is only injected in the neck, below the chin area, while Botox can be used for your chin wrinkle. For marionette lines I would advise you to look into fillers. Make an appointment with an expert who will create personalized treatment for you to attain desired results. Good luck! I
Thank you for your question. Kybella can definitely be used after liposuction. However please make sure you consult a board-certified dermatologist.
Yes, it is perfectly fine to do a Kybella treatment following your liposuction. Were you not happy the results from your liposuction or did you gain weight? Kybella can hopefully help. Best of luck --
You don't specify why you are looking into a new fat-loss technique one year after your submental liposuction. Were you dissatisfied with the results? Or did you regain weight and now need another treatment? In either case, Kybella can effectively remove your submental fat using deoxycholic acid. It will probably take at least two to three treatments to get the results you want. If you need re-treatment because of weight gain, please be sure you have your diet and exercise regimen under control before receiving Kybella. While it will remove your submental fat, if you gain more weight, the remaining fat cells may expand to accommodate the extra volume and your benefits will not be visible until you lose weight again. Please see a board-certified dermatologist to see if you are a candidate for Kybella.
It is common for there to be swelling after any treatment, and Kybella is no different. The deoxycholic acid in Kybella will break down and destroy the fat cells causing your double chin, so while you may feel like it isn’t working, it is. The majority of patients require multiple treatments, t...
For many folks, they would be better off paying a little more and having a lower face and neck liposuction. The liposuction is a highly reliable method with almost immediate results and a very short healing phase. Yes, Kybella is associated with swelling and bruising and only 60% see a result ...
Thank you for your question macmac1110. Kybella is the first and thus far only FDA approved non-surgical injectable treatment for the double chin. For my patients I recommend starting with at least two treatments and two vials per treatment. We have found that waiting 2-3 months between t...
