Can liposuction help to remove a ring of fat at base of front of neck?

Question

When I drop my chin, I feel my breathing is impaired. I have sleep apnea. When I pull the area down, the pressure is greatly reduced. I am 65.

lkeesee I appreciate your concern, however I doubt that liposuction of your neck area will affect your sleep apnea in either way. Liposuction is an excellent option for troublesome fat of the neck area, but for purely cosmetic reasons. subcutaneous fat will not impact your breathing or sleep apnea.  Having fat removed with liposuction and will also not alter these conditions.  Fat can be removed as long as it's just below the skin anywhere in the neck using liposuction.  At 65 and it's likely you have skin laxity as well as fat.  Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
