I want to elongate and emphasize my (mostly) non-existent chin contour. Besides Masseter Botox being temporary while an Implant is not, what other differences are there between the two procedures? Which would be more cost-effective? Is their a reason I should choose the Botox over the Implant?
Answer: Fat transfer Chin implants involve a surgery and incision and problems with implants. Botox has to be done every 3 months forever. Neither may be good options for you one option you should consider is fat transfer to bulk up those areas in a scarless technique. Read more about it and consult a plastic surgeon that performs a lot of fat transfer. Best wishes

Answer: Reshaping the lower face with a chin implant and/or Botox Both Botox and chin implant surgery reshape the lower face. Often patients who are considering such procedures may also have relatively excess buccal fat in the cheeks too. These anatomic conditions are frequently found together within the same patient. However, these cosmetic procedures treat different areas of the lower face. In addition to Botox being temporary and chin implant being permanent, these cosmetic procedures have fundamentally different outcomes. To primarily improve your "non-existent chin contour", then I would consider chin implant (with possible neck liposuction) a more beneficial procedure. If you haven't already, then speak with a plastic surgeon to perform an examination and help determine appropriate options for you. Best,Dr. Chaboki

Answer: Chin Implant There is no correlation between reducing the size of the masseter muscles over the jaw angles by injecting Botox and placing an implant over the chin in the front of the jaw.

Answer: Masseter Botox and Chin Implant You are treating two different regions of the face when discussing these procedures. If you do have an enlarged masseter, botox can help to soften the contour of the cheek and face. However, it will not do anything for the chin with respect to the projection of this area. If you need augmentation of the chin region, an implant is a reasonable, long lasting solution to this problem. Either way you should schedule a consultation to get a thorough evaluation and determine the best treatment option for your face. Best of luck.

Answer: Chin Implant versus Masseter Botox? Hi, chin augmentation with a chin implant can provide harmony and balance to the entire lower face. Botox to the Masseter muscle will decrease the flare of the jaw line making the face less angular which is perceived as relatively feminine. You may want to take a look at the cheeks to be certain they are properly shaped for additional aesthetic benefits. Hope this helps.
