Would I benefit from a radix graft to help my profile?

I think you are absolutely right in your assessment that a combination of reduction of the pain and tip and enhancement in projection of the radix produces a better overall profile balance.

Reduction of the bridge to level with the radix would make the bridge too low.

Another way to look at it is from the perspective of the relationship between the radix in the upper lip. When the radix is set back compared to the upper lip it is difficult to achieve a set of proportions that is favourable. Building projection in the radix creates a better alignment of the radix with the upper lip and the base of the columella and creates a platform preference for the nasal shape that is more balanced.

Rhinoplasty is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Best wishes to you.

No radix graft needed. Simply lower the bridge and reduce the protection of the tip. Radix grafts can be very obvious. I would do yours as a closed rhinoplasty. No grafts needed at all

Hi there! I think your morph looks pretty good. Adding tissue to the radix can certainly help. I do think yours may be a bit deep. It's important to add something soft such as fascia as more firm grafts can create visibility long term. Hope this helps!

Based on the angle of the photo, it does appear that you have a low radix and could benefit from a radix graft in addition to dorsal hump take down and tip refinement to bring more balance to your nose. Best of luck!

Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an in person examination (not just an online consultation) and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique.

Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do and how technically to do it based on limited photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person.
