When will I be able to go swimming after rhinoplasty?

The water shouldn’t be a problem but the sun might. Your nose will be sensitive to the sun and burn more easily. As far as swimming you should be ok but confirm with your surgeon

Hello, hope you are well. Swimming generally gets the green light 1 month after surgery for my rhinoplasty patients. Tight fitting masks (SCUBA, snorkel, etc) and activities that may pose a risk of impact (surfing, etc) should be avoided, but swimming in a pool or at the beach is okay. Direct sun exposure and heat can also prolong swelling, so make sure to have a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, and be mindful.

In our practice, we would allow you to go swimming after rhinoplasty at two weeks after the procedure. We perform closed rhinoplasty with all the incisions placed on the inside of the nose, and no painful packing is required either. Choose your surgeon wisely based on extensive experience

Which plastic surgeon, postoperative protocol and showering and bathing, as well as swimming in pools and oceans are seen very differently by different providers. Some have very set ideas about when this is acceptable after surgery.
Personally, i don’t think getting into water affects surgery in a negative way but other plastic surgeons may be very particular about this. You should ask your provider what their policy is.
