It's been 7 months after FUE but no growth yet

Question

Dear doctors, I am really appreciated your time you guys take to answer our questions. It has been nearly 7 months i had hair transplant (FUE) procedure from Pakistan but i have not seen any hair growth. I am not completely bold but too much thinning makes my hair look bad. I lost hair from crown as well. I spoke to my doctor in Pakistan from Australia on phone, before he said, i will see results in 6 months but i did not. After asking again he said, they may took 12 months to appear.

Whereas delayed growth is possible in terms of the rate at which everything grows in, at 7 months, you should see some results. It would be highly unusual for there to be no growth at all at 7 month and then have the situation change with onset of growth later on.  To dtermine if you already have growth or nor not, it would be helpful if you could provide a before photo as well as a photo depicting your current situation to allow for an objective evaluation. Also provide the number of grafts implanted.

Well your doctor said it may take 12 months to see results.  So at the 7th month mark you have 5 more months to go.

6 months is about the average for people to start seeing results appear. But because that's the average it could take longer, usually no more than 9 months. I don't think patients should worry about slow results until they finish the 9th month- if there's no results to see by then, there likely is a problem.

There are times when growth can be delayed.  Sometimes this is procedural, sometimes caused by patients post operative regimen such as discontinuous use of minoxidil.  I would suppose based on the grafts and objective information regarding your procedure that your doctor has, he may feel you have delayed growth and may have to wait a few more months for your results to be see, it can happen.

The transplanted hair usually goes through its intrinsic cycle of growth and starts to grow in after three to four months. It may take up to 18 months for all the hair to grow in. However after seven months you should have some growth.  You need to wait and see, and if there is still no growth then contact your doctor again.
