Answer: Will I Gain the Weight Back After Lipo? Don’t Gain Weight After Lipo Liposuction is a huge investment of your time, energy, and money. Don’t undo your great results by overeating! Even though the fat that was removed during the procedure is gone for good, you still have remaining fat cells in the area that will swell if you overeat. Even if you do gain weight, you’ll no longer have the same unproportional fatty pockets you did before. The new, more pleasing proportions that your liposuction gave you remain the same. But you can get bigger overall especially in the breast and buttock areas. Make the same kind of time, energy, and money commitment to a healthy diet and lifestyle that you did for your liposuction. Hire a trainer or nutritionist, or sign up for a healthy meal-delivery program. You owe it to yourself to get the most beautiful possible long-term results from liposuction. Please consult the board-certified dermatologist who treated you if you have other questions about how to optimize your final figure.

Answer: Will I gain the weight back after lipo before complete healing from swelling? Weight maintenance is prudent. The liposuctioned areas will tend to accumulate less fat due to the fact that the cell number in that area has been decreased with the liposuction.Weight gained after liposuction will tend to distribute to the next most preferential fatty storage areas. Weight loss after weight gain should remedy this. The fat will not move, but gains in weight will distribute differently.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Will I gain the weight back after lipo before complete healing from swelling? Thank you for your question. After the surgery, there is a process of swelling that undergoes the first stage of major resolution in the first 2 weeks after surgery. The lateer phase of healing takes place over the 2-3 months after surgery where everything really settles and softens. It is after this time that we are getting close to the final result, though this varies patient to patient. It is important to maintain a healthy well balanced diet to maintain the results of your surgery. Best is to follow your surgeons post op instructions to maximize the results.

Answer: LIPOSUCTION AND WEIGHT Thanks for the question, once we hit puberty we have a set amount of fat cells so once you have liposuction you will always have less fat cells and thus less fat than before. That being said the remaining cells can grow and shrink depending on your diet so its important to maintain a healthy diet after liposuction not only to maintain but enhance your results!

Answer: Wieght gain Liposuction is not weight loss and does not prevent weight gain. Preventing weight gain is done with dieting and exercise. However, liposuction does treat specific areas of fat. Should you gain weight, you will probably notice less fat in the specific areas treated since a certain population of fat cells were removed. Also, please talk with your medical doctor to find out the reason for your anemia. If it is from diet, you will need to eat more protein. Protein shakes can be very helpful.
