So it's been a month since my liposuction, and my incisions had stitches which are out now and had scabs which are also mostly off. How do I take care of these scars of liposuction. Is there a scar cream to apply, if yes for how long?
Answer: How to take care of scars/marks a month after liposuction? (Photo) No particular scar treatment is better than another. Silicone sheets, Mederma, and Biocorneum are reasonable and popular options. I recommend that the scar therapy begin after the scars have healed and there are no open areas, which usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. The scars from liposuction will continue to fade in most cases for at least one year. Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Vbeam can help reduce redness of the scar. Apply Plato's scar serum twice daily Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: Sun and cream Sun avoidance up to 1 year is the most important thing to do to prevent darkened scar. You can use sun screen on the scar. You can also try Mederma cream and silicone sheet, both can be purchased over the counter. You can also try BioCorneum scar gel to improve the appearance of your scar. Thank you

Answer: Scar care after liposuction The scar creams do little to improve the appearance of scars overall. You are best keeping the scars protected from sun exposure until they are no longer pink or red. Otherwise, they may turn darker or browner and remain so indefinitely.
