Can I get a BBL after previously getting buttocks injections (2 rounds)?

Hello doctors!! I have two rounds of buttocks injections. The first was 5 years ago, then the most recent 2 years ago. I'm interested in lipo 360, however I'm willing to get a bbl if doctors are willing to work on me. Thank you for taking the time to hear me out.

Hello @wreese91 thank you for your question. There is not enough information to form an opinion. To understand what type of treatment was performed on the buttocks, what was done aesthetically or clinically? Whether it is hyaluronic acid or polymers is important if it is aesthetic. In the case of polymers, it is not advised to do a fat transfer to the buttocks, and in the case of medications, it is necessary to know the kind of medication was applied. Hi there!Do you know what was injected to your buttocks??? Are you having any symptoms from the injections?? Are you happy with the results?? Prior to proceeding with a BBL it will be important to establish what was injected and if any damaged was caused with these injections. Your board certified plastic surgeon will be able to make a better assessment on physical exam and decide if any work up is needed. Having this information during your consultation will be very helpful.

No posted photos! Very few boarded PSs are willing to operate on these cases. I know of only 3 in USA, including myself. Without virtual consult, seeing photos, or in person very hard to advise. Also since the new office surgery rules in Florida, all BBL type surgeries require inject/removal under ultra sound guided techniques. Thus fees are increased. Fees now $7,900 ranges. I offer specialized personal surgery techniques including taping techniques.

Considering your history, you are a candidate for a Safe California Ultrasound Buttock Augmentation (SCUBA). SCUBA allows for the safe transfer of fat by minimizing risk of a potentially detrimental fat emboli and/or inserting into your areas of injections. Additionally, using our propriety fat grafting cannula, we are able to directly visualize placement of fat such that entry into the gluteal muscle is avoided. This is because fat emboli have been associated with intramuscular fat grafting of the gluteus muscle. Avoidance of intramuscular fat grafting has been identified as the number 1 minimizing factor for fat emboli. As such, using our propriety fat cannula, we are able to avoid any fat graft transfer into the gluteus muscle and prior injection sites.

It would be helpful if you would be a little more specific. If you’re talking about off label silicone injections then I would not offer a BBL and many plastic surgeons feel the same way.

Free silicon injections can create serious problems many years after the fact.

A lot depends on what filler material was used.

If it was an FDA approved product then you’re probably fine.

The only way to find out if someone is willing to do a BBL and to get an assessment for the procedure is to have multiple in person consultations.
