Yes, you
could get a nice result with a closed rhinoplasty. Addressing the bump and
narrowing the nose can be done just as well from a closed approach as an open.
However, although it is possible to get a nice result with a closed
rhinoplasty, elevating the skin allows much more flexibility in modifying the
tip shape without removing too much cartilage (which can result in loss of
support and a pinched or asymmetric tip). Although I used to perform
exclusively closed rhinoplasties, now I perform more than 90% open. I feel that
my results are more reliable with fewer revisions. I see no problems with the
scars, and with careful technique, I do not feel that the recovery is
significantly longer. However, there are a variety of opinions on this subject.

 The optimal way to correct a
bulbous tip is to do an open approach over a closed approach as this allows you
to see the bulbous tip correctly. It is important to find a Board Certified
Plastic Surgeon or Otolaryngologist with expertise in Rhinoplasty. This is the
key to excellent results; no matter whether it is open versus a closed
rhinoplasty.

Yes it is possible to have a closed approach, and the decision should be made be the surgeon. I would however strongly recommend an open approach. The goal is to improve the appearance of the nose without having it look like a "nose job". You are an attractive woman and should want a natural nose. With an open approach the surgery is more precise and the results are very predicable. However instead of being concerned with surgical technique (open vs. closed), you should seek a qualified rhinoplasty specialist. The surgeon is the bottom line. Look at many of their before and afters, and feel comfortable with your surgeon.

It is certainly possible to refine your nasal tip via closed rhinoplasty.  Regardless of how it is done, either open or closed, what you really want at the end of it all is a great result that you are happy with.  You'll want to find an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon who produces natural results to help you achieve yours. 

Closed vs Open rhinoplasty can deliver the exact same results. You just have to find a surgeon that is comfortable and competent with the closed technique. I far prefer the open technique. The scar is negligible and the ability to look directly at the cartilage and bone anatomy is so much easier for me. Being that said, there are surgeons who are strictly or mostly closed technique surgeons. You just have to pick the right one for you. Everything you want can be accomplished via a closed technique.

Yes, closed rhinoplasty techniques are  used to reduce the bulbous tip. The bulbous tip is addressed with suture techniques applied to the lower lateral cartilages and sometimes cartilage removal when they are excessively wide. can be achieved with both techniques. There is not a best way to perform the
procedure. Individual surgeons have their own preferences of how to produce the
best results in their hands. What is more important than whether a closed or
open approach is utilized is the experience and artistry of the plastic surgeon
and your comfort level and confidence in that individual.Following the advice from a
surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to
do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically
feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical
history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not

extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of
Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic

Thank you for submitting pictures. The most important factor to consider is the surgeon's experience. If he/she is comfortable doing the closed techinique then you could have equaelly good resuklts.
