I am very fascinated with Rihanna lips and want to go for that look. I have rather small lips and it is like an oval shape. I've been insecure about it because majority of females within my ethnicity have really full lips except me.

Thank you for your question.  Hyaluronic Acid fillers are excellent at augmenting lips.  Typically they are used to enhance your pre-existing shape, but you can create a subtle cupids bow in patients without one.  This would include creating philtral columns (the vertical lines running from the base of the nose to the top of the cupids bow).  I would recommend selecting an experienced board-certified surgeon/injector that is comfortable in lip augmentation.  Good luck!

The overall shape of a Cupid’s Bow largely depends on your natural anatomy. If you have a defined Cupid’s Bow to begin with naturally then your lip augmentation results will likely end up with a well defined Cupid’s Bow in the right injectors hands. In your case where your Cupid’s Bow is blunted and rounded, it will be very challenging to create a deep defined Cupid’s Bow with lip fillers. Cupid’s Bow is an appearance of anatomy made up of color and tissue texture difference. Lip fillers can help creating shape but unfortunately not the color/shade of the lip tissue/skin. One suggestion for your goal is may be to try lip tattooing of a more defined Cupid’s Bow first and then we can follow up with some filler to outline the tattoo to create that deep Cupid’s Bow look.
